Description
Infinite Use Reforged
Infinite Use Reforged is an independent Forge 1.20.1 mod inspired by Infinite Use, originally created by MCclip.
With a single command, you can mark almost any item in your main hand as infinite.
Infinite Use Reforged was originally created as an attempt to bring Infinite Use to Forge 1.20.1, but has since grown into its own implementation, with independently written code, additional compatibility, and dedicated handling for Forge and modded item behaviors.
Features
- Infinite stacks — food, blocks, ender pearls, potions, buckets, boats, fireworks, and other consumable or placeable items won't be consumed when used.
- Infinite durability — swords, pickaxes, shears, bows, crossbows, fishing rods, elytra, and other damageable items won't lose durability.
- Infinite Totems of Undying — a single marked totem can save you over and over again.
- Infinite ammunition — arrows used by bows and crossbows can be made infinite, with special handling to prevent fired projectiles from becoming a source of duplication.
- Throwable and returning weapon support — thrown weapons are supported, including proper handling for vanilla Loyalty.
- Simply Swords compatibility — includes dedicated compatibility for Simply Swords and its custom returning weapon behavior, including the Wickpiercer.
- Persistent per-item marking — Infinite Use is stored directly on the ItemStack through NBT, so marked items remain infinite across save/load and work on dedicated servers.
- Server-side functionality — Infinite Use Reforged does not need to be installed on clients when used on a dedicated server.

Compatibility and Bug Reports
Minecraft items — especially modded ones — can handle consumption, durability, projectiles, and inventory interactions in very different ways.
Infinite Use Reforged includes special handling for several of these behaviors, but some modded items may still require dedicated compatibility.
If you find an item that doesn't work correctly, encounter an incompatibility with another mod, or find any other bug, please leave a comment on the CurseForge project page with as much information as possible.
When reporting compatibility problems, including the affected item's name and the mod it comes from makes investigating the issue much easier.
I'll try to investigate and fix reported issues when possible, especially compatibility problems with other mods.
Known Issues
- With Farmer's Delight's stackable soup feature enabled, Infinite soups and stews may still generate an empty Bowl when consumed. The food itself remains Infinite and otherwise works normally.
Version Support
Infinite Use Reforged is currently developed specifically for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.
I currently have no plans to port it to other Minecraft versions or mod loaders unless there is a reason or need to do so. This may change in the future, but for now, Forge 1.20.1 is the version I intend to maintain.
About Infinite Use Reforged
Infinite Use Reforged began because I wanted to use MCclip's Infinite Use in my own Forge 1.20.1 modpack and couldn't find an equivalent.
What started as an attempt to port the concept for personal use gradually became a separate implementation. As Forge-specific problems, item duplication edge cases, projectile behavior, returning weapons, and mod compatibility needed to be handled, the internal implementation was rewritten and expanded independently.
Today, Infinite Use Reforged does not use the original mod's code and is better described as an independent Forge implementation inspired by Infinite Use rather than a direct port.
I'm keeping the project public both to make it easier for me to maintain and organize, and so anyone else who wants this functionality on Forge 1.20.1 can use it too.
Full credit for the original mod and concept goes to MCclip.
