Attention shoppers: the store is now closed.
You wake up on a yellow doormat. The fluorescent lights hum. The exit sign above you points at a wall. The aisles go on forever.
Infinite IKEA adds an endless, procedurally generated furniture store dimension inspired by liminal-space horror games. New players spawn inside it. The only way out is the door you build yourself.
The Store
- An infinite single-storey showroom generated chunk by chunk: warehouse racking, living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, cafés, checkout lanes, plant departments and eerie empty halls.
- Structural pillars, fluorescent ceiling strips (some sections are dead), partition walls and exit signs that lead nowhere.
- Thick beige haze by day that turns pitch black at night, with a fluorescent-hum ambience and distant noises.
Opening Hours
- The store is open for 10 minutes and closed for 5. PA chimes, random announcements and a "Day N" title every morning.
- Employees: tall, faceless staff. During opening hours they wander and stare. When the lights go out, they hunt anyone still inside.
Salvage and Survival
- Break furniture and Flatpack Boxes for particleboard, screws, dowels, scrap metal, fabric, circuit scrap and broken tubes.
- The Allen Key disassembles furniture instantly and is a reusable tool in assembly recipes.
- Display Sinks are still plumbed in (infinite water). Café Counters restock themselves with meatballs, hot dogs and lingonberry jam.
- Display plants drop saplings and seeds, so you can farm indoors.
Escape
Craft Store Circuits, Liminal Alloy and a Liminal Core, then build the Emergency Exit. It leads back to the overworld, and it works both ways if you want to go back for your factory.
Notes
- NeoForge 1.21.1. Standalone-playable, with no dependencies.
- Designed for the upcoming Infinite IKEA modpack, which ties Create, Mekanism and Applied Energistics 2 into a single linear progression through the store.
- Keep-inventory is enabled on new worlds. Nether portals cannot be lit inside the store.
- A fan-made project inspired by liminal-space and "infinite store" games. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Inter IKEA Systems B.V.
