What's new

  • Added anti-invented-word instructions: avoid grafting a French ending onto an English root, e.g. “braker”.

  • Added instructions against untranslated fragments: false friends such as “dangerous”/“dangereux”, leftover Chinese text, etc., plus a self-check step before responding.

Recommendations for models, based on extensive comparative testing:

  • aya-expanse:8b was identified as the best local translation model tested: faithful translations, good handling of gender and grammar, and few hallucinations. It is now the recommended translation model and the default model for the settings.
