HyperRockets
HyperRockets is a late-game Elytra movement mod that adds a full progression system of powerful custom rockets, each with unique crafting recipes, custom sounds, cooldowns, animations, and stronger flight boosts.
Instead of only using regular fireworks, HyperRockets gives players a proper upgrade path: start with basic coal-powered rockets, work your way through stronger elemental tiers, craft the powerful Infinite Core, and eventually create reusable infinite rockets for end-game travel.
Features
Custom Elytra Rockets
HyperRockets adds multiple tiers of custom rockets, each stronger and faster than the last:
- Coal Powered Hyperrocket
A basic upgraded rocket for early progression.

- Fire Charged Hyperrocket
A stronger fire-based rocket with improved power.

- Breeze Powered Hyperrocket
A fast movement rocket powered by Breeze materials.

- Ender Powered Hyperrocket
A powerful end-game movement rocket with end-themed crafting.

- Ancient Powered Hyperrocket
A high-tier ancient rocket with custom idle and use animations.

Each rocket has its own custom sound, visual style, cooldown, and use animation.
Infinite Hyperrockets
Most regular HyperRockets can be upgraded into Infinite Hyperrockets.
Infinite Hyperrockets:
- Are reusable
- Do not get consumed when used
- Have a purple enchanted appearance
- Keep the same power and sound as their regular version
- Are made through the Infinite Core system
These are designed as expensive late-game upgrades for players who want permanent, powerful Elytra mobility.
The Infinite Core

The Infinite Core is the main late-game block used to create infinite rockets.
It is crafted from rare items and acts as a special charging station. The Infinite Core can be placed in the world and interacted with.
Infinite Core details
- Placeable custom 3D block
- Has an uncharged and charged state
- Can be charged using a Totem of Undying
- Used to convert regular HyperRockets into infinite versions
- Breakable only with a diamond-tier or better pickaxe
- Very durable and blast resistant
- Drops itself when mined correctly
How to Make Infinite Hyperrockets
To create an Infinite Hyperrocket:
- Craft and place the Infinite Core.
- Right-click the Infinite Core with a Totem of Undying to charge it.
- Right-click the charged Infinite Core with a regular HyperRocket.
- The core will convert the rocket into its infinite version.
- The Infinite Core returns to its uncharged state after the conversion.
For example:
Coal Powered Hyperrocket + Charged Infinite Core
= Infinite Coal Powered Hyperrocket
The same system works for the Fire Charged, Breeze, Ender, and Ancient Hyperrockets.
Rocket Progression
HyperRockets is built around progression. Each tier requires stronger materials and unlocks a better rocket.
The general progression is:
Coal Powered Hyperrocket
→ Fire Charged Hyperrocket
→ Breeze Powered Hyperrocket
→ Ender Powered Hyperrocket
→ Ancient Powered Hyperrocket
→ Infinite Hyperrockets / Tidal Hyperrocket
The goal is to make Elytra travel feel more rewarding by giving players meaningful upgrades instead of relying on one basic firework forever.
Cooldowns and Balance
Each rocket has a cooldown based on its tier. Lower-tier rockets have longer cooldowns, while stronger rockets can be used more quickly.
This helps keep the rockets balanced while still making higher-tier rockets feel worth crafting.
Current cooldown progression:
Coal Powered Hyperrocket: 2 seconds
Fire Charged Hyperrocket: 1.5 seconds
Breeze Powered Hyperrocket: 1 second
Ender Powered Hyperrocket: 0.8 seconds
Ancient Powered Hyperrocket: 1 second
Tidal Hyperrocket: 0.5 seconds
The cooldown also controls the rocket’s use animation, so the item visually shows when it is ready to use again.
Animations and Sounds
HyperRockets includes custom item animations and sound effects.
Rockets have:
- Custom use animations
- Custom rocket sounds
- Animated Ancient Hyperrocket idle texture
- Cooldown-based animation timing
- Different effects depending on the rocket tier
The Ancient Hyperrocket has a special animated idle texture, making it stand out as one of the highest-tier rockets in the mod.
Crafting
The mod includes custom recipes for all rocket tiers and the Infinite Core.
Some recipes are simple upgrades, while higher-tier rockets require rare materials from the Nether, End, Trial Chambers, and other late-game content.
Screenshots of the Infinite Core and Hyperrocket Recipes are included above.
Gunpowder Tiers:
Compressed Gunpowder: (Used for Coal Hyperrockets)

Extra Compressed Gunpowder: (Used for Fire Charged Hyperrockets)

Double Compressed Gunpowder: (Used for Breeze Powered Hyperrockets)

Triple Compressed Gunpowder: (Used for EnderPowered Hyperrockets)

Quadriple Compressed Gunpowder: (Used for Ancient Powered Hyperrockets)
