Hungry Animals overhauls vanilla animals, provides every configurable options.
Weight
Animals have weight which depends on species and individuals. The heavier, The more meat.
Stomach
Animals push food into their stomach, after that they digest to gain weight.
Feeding
Animals eat blocks like grass, fallen item, held item, and hunt other animals.
Taming
Animals behave differently depending on how familiar they are to players.
Breeding
Animals breed themselves, even in the wild. All you have to do is just feeding them enough food.
Hygiene
Animals poop. Clean your pen, or plague spreads.
Hunt
Wild animals are strong and agile, so hunt and capture in early game is difficult. Bola, slingshot, and trap is here.
Production
Excreta can be fermented into manure, and saltpeter.
Animal glue can be produced from leather, bone, and tendon.
Llamas produce milk. Egg-laying production, Milking production, Shearing production can be added and customizable.
Generation
Grass is generated periodically.

Discord - for simple questions related to mod content
can you add compatability with the genetic animals mod? it would be really helpful, because there is also a pregnacy system and player-initiated breeding system. they also have hunger already. you could possibly just not make this mod do anything to the genetic animals mod :D
Can you please add actual config files in the config folder instead of requiring us to create our own .jsons? There's so many and I run an aternos server, whose file system makes it twice as difficutl.
Is the meat amount a static value or a percentage? Since I use custom loot tables for animals in my map
You crash if you try to examine a skeleton horse or feed it bones
i tried to add better animals plus as the configuration said it could add modded animals (I mainly want it so animals will run away when they see players) but spawning in the animal doesn't work after inputting it animal.json help! this is what all passive animals need rather than staying still and doing nothing when a player is right in front of them
hello i need a help this mod is compatible with the animania mod?
In reply to nerotakutv:
unfortunately not, all changes in the fashion concern only vanilla animals
will u be updating it for 1.15.2?
Is there a way to configure so the animals excrete the manure item, not the block? It's really annoying when the fences auto connect to the manure blocks (a vanilla behavior, I know...), and the animals use it to escape their pens or whatever...
If I change the excretion factor to 0, will the animals excrete anything?
Also, is there any way to make the Animania trough compatible with this mod? If not, I suggest that this mod's trough could be enhanced... The food items kinda "floating" above it doesn't look so good... And, like I posted before, it would look better with a vanilla oak texture. And it could also accept fluid blocks, and be automated.

Hey, is there an option to make mobs hostile? Like if you want to make chickens attack you.
In reply to Forge_User_06996747:
XD that would be hilarious. i also was looking for a mod that made hostile mobs also attack and kill pets. the main grudge i have against vanilla foxes and wolves is that they only attack one mob and they don't eat anything :/
I am getting a texture issue with the trough. it did work fine once then i got rid of the hungry mechanics mods and now its the purple black texture. i have tried to delete and reinstall both mods to test but it crashes with hungry mechanics. I don't really want to use hungry mechanics anyway just hungry animals.
edit:Never mind, I had forgotten to update to the beta version. I see the texture now.
Can i adjust animal spawn with config of this mod, or use one of others to fix my problem? Seems like mods spawns too much animals in world.
I've wanted this mod for a very long time but every time I download it and try it it always crashes I have no other mods or anything idk why this is happening
You should add a command to reload loot tables ingame for the mod
In reply to Forge_User_74412480:
Sorry it works but for some reason the animals from spawn eggs don't update their loot table with the /reload command
Loot tables doesn't work for modded entities
In reply to Matheus_Vieira22:
but also understandably the mod works with vanilla animals and only
Can you please make mooshrooms and modded animals that produce milk stop producing milk endlessly? Cows don't produce it anymore, but mooshrooms and goats from Better Animals Mod still do
