Hostile AI - Adaptive Siege, Breaching, and Smart Mob AI

Hostile AI is a challenging and comprehensive AI overhaul mod designed to transform Minecraft's standard hostile mobs into intelligent, tactical siegers. No longer can you hide behind simple stone walls or wooden doors; mobs will actively dig through obstacles, build bridges over gaps, climb vertical pillars, and use coordinated group abilities to breach your defenses.

To prevent overwhelming players, the mod is governed by the customizable Hysteria System, allowing you to set when these active siege behaviors begin and how often they recur.

FEATURES

🛡️ The Hysteria Siege Calendar

The mod doesn't force constant chaos upon your world. It introduces a dynamic siege schedule:

  • Hysteria Schedule: Siege AI and swarming actions are only active on specific days, leaving vanilla behavior completely normal on quiet days.
  • Customizable Start Day: Choose when the Hysteria system begins (e.g., Day 1 to face immediate danger, or Day 10 to give yourself time to prepare).
  • Recurrence Frequency: Set how many days pass between each active siege (e.g., daily, every 3 days, or once a week).

⛏️ Intelligent Digging & Tool Requirements

Zombies and other siegers will aggressively mine blocks to clear pathways, balanced with smart mechanics to protect natural terrain:

  • Intelligent Pathing: Mobs only dig when they are completely unable to reach the player naturally. They will walk up natural mountain slopes and hills normally instead of needlessly carving tunnels into the terrain.
  • Instant vs. Progressive Mining:
    • Standard blocks (Dirt, Wood, Stone, Iron blocks, etc.) are dug up rapidly, maintaining a fast-paced, high-danger siege environment.
    • Extremely hard blocks like Obsidian, Crying Obsidian, or reinforced modded blocks strictly require a Diamond or Netherite Pickaxe to mine, and will take a realistic, prolonged duration to break, accompanied by visual block cracking animations.
  • Unbreakable Blocks: Bedrock, End Portal Frames, and blocks with negative hardness remain entirely unbreakable.

🧱 Adaptive Building (Bridging & Pillaring)

Zombies are capable of overcoming gaps and heights using blocks:

  • Bridging: Mobs will build horizontal bridges using Dirt or Cobblestone to cross gaps, ravines, and rivers.
  • Pillaring: If you are hiding on a high platform, mobs will build vertical pillars to climb up to your level.
  • Visual Realism: Building mobs will realistically equip and hold Cobblestone blocks in their off-hand while executing building actions.

💥 Creeper Wall-Breaching & Nuclear Threats

Creepers are utilized as tactical breaching assets to open pathways for the horde:

  • Wall Breaching: If their path to the player is blocked by a wall, Creepers will prematurely ignite and blow themselves up to blast open an entrance.
  • Nuclear Creepers: A highly dangerous, low-chance variant that spawns with a larger explosion yield, modified fuse timings, increased movement speed, and warns players with a custom warning sound before detonation.

🕷️ Adaptive Mob Skills & Coordinated Tactics

Mone other than the horde is safe. Enemies use specialized class abilities:

  • TNT Deployment: Zombies can place primed TNT near players to breach defenses or flush you out.
  • Arsonists: Mobs can light flammable blocks on fire to burn down wooden defenses.
  • Spider Cobweb Shooting: Spiders and Cave Spiders will spit cobwebs from a distance to temporarily trap you, accompanied by visual blocks and audio feedback.
  • Enderman Tactical Teleportation: If an Enderman is targeting you, it will periodically scan for nearby hostile mobs (like Creepers or Zombies) and teleport them right next to you to coordinate an attack.
  • Water Surfing: Ocean-surfing siegers gain high movement speed and water-skimming capabilities when crossing water bodies.

🐄 Passive Herd Revenge (Angry Animals)

Don't expect passive creatures to remain defenseless. Provoking animals will trigger group retaliation:

  • Herd Anger: Attacking any passive animal (Cows, Sheep, Pigs, Chickens) or Villagers will trigger group hostility.
  • Passive Attack AI: All nearby animals of that species will immediately become hostile, chase you down, and attack you using custom damage mechanics.

⚙️ In-Game Tabbed Configuration Dashboard

You can customize every aspect of the mod without leaving Minecraft:

  • Categorized Sections: Features a clean, in-game tabbed UI divided into 5 distinct categories (General, AI & Dig, Skills, Creeper, Advanced).
  • Interactive Adjusters: Easily toggle boolean values, input customized blacklist/whitelist strings, or use interactive [-] and [+] buttons to precisely adjust timings, days, and distances on the fly.
  • Server-Safe: Completely client-shielded GUI logic to ensure your physical dedicated servers load and run smoothly without crashes.

🔧 Configuration Options

The mod generates a hostileai-common.toml file inside your instance's config folder, allowing server administrators to customize all 46 settings, including block digestion blacklists, custom siege whitelist mobs, tool requirements, and explosion radiuses.

Challenge your building strategies, secure your perimeters, and prepare for the siege!
