Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
## Hordy Zombies 1.9.9.5
- Small tweaks.
## Hordy Zombies 1.9.9.4 "Trial by Combat"
Fixes and polish after playing on a real server. No new blocks.
**Before updating a server, back up `config/smartzombies-common.toml`.** New options are added and your own values are kept. Four default values update once, and only if you never changed them: mortar damage 15 → 24, mortar radius 3 → 4, Water Carriers per wave 4 → 2, max alive 8 → 4.
**Soul Brazier (flamethrower)**
- Fire now comes from the barrel ends and reaches 8 blocks.
- It shoots over fences, walls, panes, slabs and trapdoors, and tilts down to 70°, so a brazier on a wall reaches the wall's foot.
- The two jets meet under your crosshair.
- Soul fire no longer scares zombies away and keeps burning in the rain.
**Watch Fire**
- The fort brazier is renamed "Watch Fire".
- Bless it with a right-click: holy water or a "Hallowing" book, no anvil needed. Its ring is shown with blue particles.
**Pitch Cauldron**
- Stronger: 6 damage, and the burning strip lasts 8 s and works in the rain.
- Cheaper recipe (sticks instead of iron).
- Refills itself from a chest or barrel next to it.
- Zombies standing in burning pitch can't break, build or climb.
**No holes in the parapet**
- The Soul Brazier and the Pitch Cauldron are now solid, so mercenaries no longer fall through their spot on the wall.
**Mortar**
- Fixed clicks, seating and cranking. A clear message while reloading; an empty magazine switches to the other one.
- The crew fires on its own during a base fight: a toolsmith villager or an engineer at the crank, nobody seated. Never near villagers, players, pets or mercenaries.
- Aim over walls: the higher you look, the farther it fires (16–48 blocks). The landing ring shows through walls.
- Correct lead on moving targets.
- Stronger shells: up to 24 damage in radius 4, a short stun. Fire shells leave a burning patch. Blocks are still never broken.
- The Netherite Ballista's mark reaches mortars within 48 blocks without sculk sensors. Sensors still work for longer range.
- New look: a massive cast-iron cannon on an oak carriage.
**Ballistas**
- Bolts land right in the crosshair: the Netherite Ballista corrects for drop, and the ordinary one converges too.
**Mercenaries: "Our Walls"**
- No jumping down more than 3 blocks; they avoid lava and magma.
- One stuck outside the base for 20 s returns to his bed or post.
- They learn the inside of your walls from their beds, then patrol and fight inside.
- Wall posts: click a mercenary, then a block on the wall. He climbs ladders to get there.
- Engineers take bolts, shells and fuel from any chest within 6 blocks of their engine and reload during a fight.
- With no ammo, an engineer holds his post instead of jumping off the wall to brawl.
- Every ballista and the mortar pull ammo from a chest touching them.
**Blood Moon: smoother**
- Special zombies grow gradually over moons 3–6 instead of jumping at moon 3.
- Players at the same base share the moon: each extra player adds half a wave.
- One Mutant per base.
- Waves no longer pile up while much of the last wave is alive.
- Fewer Water Carriers: 2 per wave per base, at most 4 alive.
**Lawnmower**
- While riding: jump to hop, and it drives up 1-block steps.
Client and server must run the same version.
