Homesick brings the Backrooms into Minecraft. Enter the Complex and explore its yellow halls, Blue Rooms, Playrooms and abandoned Officerooms. There are quiet corridors, huge open spaces and places where the floor drops away into a ravine. Some of the things wandering around might look familiar.
Build a portal and see the other side before stepping through, or use a Threshold Anchor to find your way in. Your first join gives you a Homesick Guide with instructions for travel, portal construction and equipment. If you lose it, /homesick guide gives you another copy with command permission.
There is more to find than empty rooms:
- Search office cubicles and filing cabinet drawers for supplies. Some drawers are locked, so keep an eye out for keys.
- Find tools including a Fire Extinguisher, Handheld Vacuum, Measuring Tape and Potion Thermos.
- Record your trips with a camcorder, then play the tapes through a VHS player and CRT television.
- Explore Playrooms with enclosed side rooms, furniture and drum kits, or follow clues left in ASync buildings in the Overworld.
- Meet the Still Lifes, and watch for the rare Green Glow that can take you home.
Homesick also includes building blocks, wallpaper panels, carpets, modular ceilings, lights, speakers and photographic equipment.
Alpha 0.0.1 — Minecraft Java 1.20.1, Forge. Requires Java 17 and GeckoLib for Forge 1.20.1, version 4.8.3 or a newer compatible 4.x release. Install both mods on the server and clients for multiplayer. Shaders are optional; the gallery uses Complementary Reimagined.
This is an early release. Back up existing worlds before updating; new structures appear in unexplored chunks. VHS recordings are stored on the computer that recorded them, so giving someone a tape does not transfer its video files.
