Holy Craft
Holy Craft is a community-driven SMP progression overhaul built for private survival servers. Instead of racing straight to netherite gear and the End on day one, the whole server advances together through five gated Phases — each one expanding the world border, unlocking new dimensions, and raising the stakes of dying.
Features
Phased Progression
- The world is split into five Phases (from an early "Stone Age" phase all the way to an open-ended "Forever" phase), each with its own name, flavor text, and world border size.
- The Nether portal stays physically inert until Phase 3, and the End portal until Phase 4 — it's not just a warning message, the portal blocks themselves refuse to activate early.
- Because everyone unlocks the Nether and the End at the same time, nobody can rush ahead solo. The whole server experiences each dimension together, on the same timeline.
Revival Shrines
- Die, and a shrine appears at your death location — its coordinates are broadcast in chat immediately so your friends can come find it.
- Reviving you costs phase-appropriate items that the community has to gather and hand over. Early phases ask for simple survival goods; later phases demand rarer materials.
- Until the shrine is filled, you're stuck watching from spectator mode. Death has real weight, and getting back into the game becomes a group effort instead of a solo respawn.
Heart Loss & Recovery
- Dying costs you a heart of max health, permanently, until it's crafted back.
- "Just be careful" becomes an actual long-term stat the server tracks, instead of a suggestion nobody follows.
The Holy Manual
An in-game guidebook, opened from a button right next to the vanilla recipe book, styled like a scroll/parchment journal:
- Home — current phase, players online, hearts, world border size, days left until the next phase, a "latest events" log, and a rotating tip of the day.
- Phases — a full breakdown of every phase's requirements and flavor text.
- Feed — a live, chat-heads-style log of everything that happens on the server: player chat, deaths, phase advances, shrine events, and advancement announcements, each shown with the player's own skin-based head icon and a name color they pick themselves with
/color. Private whispers and personal command feedback are deliberately filtered out, so the Feed only ever shows things everyone actually saw. - Stats — your own hearts, day count, and server stats in one place.
Jobs
- Players can pick a job that tags their name in chat with a colored prefix, so everyone can see who does what at a glance.
The Bean Fairy
- A small passive mob that wanders the world dropping beans. Brew them with an Awkward Potion for a Can of Beans, a bit of flavor and utility along the way.
Anti-Automation & Fair Progression
- Netherite armor and tools are permanently disabled, so progression stays about teamwork and preparation instead of a gear check.
- Mob caps and other anti-automation limits keep grinding from turning into AFK-farm automation, so surviving each Phase actually takes real, played-out effort.
Built for Real Play Sessions
- Phase timers and the server-day counter only advance while the server is actually online and being played. If your group only plays a few nights a week, Holy Craft counts real played time instead of punishing you for the days nobody was on.
Why Play With Holy Craft?
Holy Craft turns a normal SMP into a shared story: every player has a stake in every other player's survival, dimensions open up as a group milestone instead of a solo race, and the in-game Manual keeps everyone on the same page about what's next. It's built for friend groups who want their server to feel like a season with real progression, not just a shared world with nothing gating it.
