Usage of the Just Enough Items (JEI) mod is highly recommended.

 

This mod includes 35 charms, all Nail forms, many abilities and more! The mod can be very overwhelming with the amount of content that it adds, so here is a full explanation of everything you can find in the mod. Note: all keybinds mentioned in the tutorial may not work after first load into the game, if that is the case for you, just go to Controls and change the keybind that doesn't seem to be working to a key of your choice. If you don't understand something from the tutorial, read the whole thing, it is probably mentioned later on, if it is not, and you have a question, feel free to contact.

 

HUD:

 

Upon joining a new world, you will notice a Soul Bar in the left-top corner of your screen, you gain soul by punching a mob, press F to heal, this takes 1/3 of your Soul Bar (unless it's been upgraded). The healing mechanic is very useful, for you might have noticed that you are in possesion of only 5 hearts, instead of the normal 10, this reflects Hollow Knight's mask system, if 5 hearts is unsatisfactory to you, you may use the Mask item to increase max health. Healing heals 1/2 of a heart. If you are unhappy with the capacity of your soul bar you can use a Vessel to upgrade it's capacity by 1 spell/heal use. Aside from the soul bar you will also notice a Notch Bar left-bottom corner. You can equip charms, upon equipping a charm, the price (as in the original game) of the charm you just equipped will get visualised on the notch bar. If you run out of notches, thus being unable to equip more charms, press I to unequip all charms. Once a charm is equipped it can only be unequipped in a previously mentioned way, throwing out, or destroying said charm will not cause unequipment.

---Broken Nail: Craft it using iron nugget and 2 iron ingots. 4.5atk damage.

---Sharpened Nail: Craft it using Broken Nail and 3 iron ingots. 6.5atk damage.

---Channelled Nail: Craft it using Sharpened Nail and a Pale Ore. 8.5atk damage.

---Coiled Nail: Craft it using Channelled Nail and 2 Pale Ores. 10.5atk damage.

---Pure Nail: Craft it using Coiled Nail and 3 Pale Ores. 12.5atk damage.

 

Spells:

 

---Vengeful Spirit: Press 1 to shoot it in the form of a projectile, this depletes a 1/3 of the unupgraded Soul Bar.

---Shade Soul: Players do not start with this spell, and have to unlock it by obtaining item "Spirit Upgrade," right-clicking it, this item is obtained from a Librarian. Press 2 to shoot it in the form of a projectile.

---Desolate Dive: Players do not start with this spell, and have to unlock it by obtaining item "Dive Upgrade," right-clicking it, this item is obtained from a Librarian. Press 3 to Dive rapidly towards the ground.

---Descending Dark: Players do not start with this spell, and have to unlock it by obtaining item "Dive Upgrade," twice, then right-clicking it, this item is obtained from a Librarian. Press 4 to Dive rapidly towards the ground.

 

Movement Abilities:

---Mothwing Cloak: Craft it using 5 leather and 1 leather chestplate. While in inventory, press CTRL to dash, recharges every 0.5 seconds.

---Crystal Hear: Craft it using a Mothwing Cloak, an obsidian and 5 amethyst shards. While in inventory, press G to Super Dash, recharges every 10 seconds.

---Mantis Claw: Craft it using 3 Pale Ores. While in hand, walk up to a wall and jump to climb it.

---Monarch Wings: Obtain by trading with a Librarian. While in inventory, allows for a second jump mid-air.

---Dream Nail: Craft it using all 3 Dreamers, those are obtained from a Librarian. Hit an entity with it to read it's mind!

---Awoken Dream Nail: Craft it using Dream Nail and 8 "9 Essence" items. Hit an entity with it to read it's mind, no matter how strong the mind is!

---Isma's Tear: While in inventory, player is immune to any fire/lava damage.

---Lumafly Lantern: Obtained from a Librarian. While in hand, land around a player becomes permanently lit.

 

Charms:

Theese charms can be obtained from a Librarian. Equip them by right-clicking them, unequip them by pressing I. 

 

---Wayward Compass: applies permanent Glowing.

---Stelwart Shell: get 0.5 seconds of invincibility upon getting hit.

---Soul Catcher: Get a bit more soul after hitting an entity.

---Soul Eater: Get more soul after hitting an entity.

---Shaman Stone: Buffs your spells.

---Dashmaster: Makes your dash recharge after 0.25 seconds.

---Sprintmaster: applies permanent Speed II.

---Grubsong: get soul upon getting hit.

---Grubberfly's Elegy: i dont even know how to describe it, just your usual grubberfly's lmao.

---Unbreakable Heart: adds 2 HP.

---Unbreakable Greed: get more Geo from mobs.

---Unbreakable Strength: buffs your melee strength.

---Spell Twister: Makes your spells cheaper

---Steady Body: gives you anti-knockback.

---Heavy Blow: push your enemies far back by hitting them.

---Quick Slash: slash faster.

---Longnail: Increases your mining distance.

---Mark of Pride: significantly increases your mining distance.

---Fury of the Fallen: buffs your damage significantly upon reaching 1 heart or lower.

---Thorns of Agony: the thorns enchantment basically.

---Defender's Crest: Damage all the enemies around you, the damage is very mild.

---Quick Focus: heal slightly faster using F.

---Deep Focus: heal an entire heart instead of 1/2 upon pressing F.

---Lifeblood Heart: adds permanent armor.

---Lifeblood Core: adds permanent armor.

---Joni's Blessing: adds permanent armor, at the expense of loosing hearts.

---Hiveblood: applies permanent Regeneration.

---Spore Shroom: Damage mobs around you upon healing.

---Shape of Unn: automatically dashes after healing.

---Weaversong: hit wolves to tame them.

---Dream Wielder: hitting mobs with dream nail gets you more soul.

---Dream Shield: When using a shield you get Resistance.

---Carefree Melody: 25% chance of ignoring a hit.

---Kingsoul: Automatically replenishes soul over time.

---Gathering Swarm: Automatically collects all items on ground in 10 blocks radius.

---Dive Upgrade: Obtained froma Librarian. Right-click to upgrade your dive.

---Essence: Get it by mining Essence Fruit from an Essence tree using a Dream nail.

---Essence 9: Craft using 9 Essence. Used for upgrading the Dream Nail.

---Pale Ore: Found in Overworld, as rare as Netherite, need Netherite to be mined.

---Simple Key: Right-click iron doors to destroy them. Craft using some iron nuggets.

---Geo: Obtained by killing any entity.

---Golden Geo: Craft using 9 Geo.

---Diamond Geo: Craft using 9 Golden Geo.

---False Knight Maul: Craft using 2 sticks and 5 cobblestone. 9.5atk damage.

---Lurien: Obtained from a Lirbrarian.

---Monomon: Obtained from a Librarian.

---Herrah: Obtained from a Librarian.

Blocks:

 

---Dream Log: Obtained from an Essence Tree. Is completely useless.
