Holey Digsite

A Hydroneer-style mining skyblock for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge). You start on a small floating island with a shovel and a pan. Dig, pan and sell what you find, then put the money into water-powered machines, new land, your own metal casting and smithing.

Alpha: the mod is still in active development. Worlds are built to survive updates (stores and plots rebuild themselves), but expect changes and the odd bug. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

How it plays

Scoop dirt (coarse dirt, rooted dirt and moss work too) and wash it in your pan at the pool. You'll find chunks of Folkiron, Goldchro, Orchremia and Silvane, and now and then a Ruby, Sapphire or Topaz. Every find has a real weight in grams, and the Sell Pad pays by weight. Sell, buy better gear, dig deeper.

Features

• Trading Post. A Hydroneer-style shop. Put your finds on the Sell Pad, take blueprints from the displays, place them on the Buy Pad and press the button. Coins come out of the Money Pan (8 copper make 1 silver, 8 silver make 1 gold, and on up through Platinum, Ruby Crowns and Mint Bars for the big money).
• Water power. Intakes and pipes drive Mining Drills (three tiers), Conveyor Belts, inclines, Down Inclines, Drop Chutes, Filter Belts, Belt Splitters and Sluice Boxes, so you can build a line that runs on its own.
• Lava power and metalworking. A Forge heats a Crucible. Pour the molten metal into adjustable Molds to cast weighted ingots, then use the Crafting Forge to turn metal and parts into Tier 2 and Tier 3 machines.
• Gems. They come out of the ground uncut. Cut them on the Gem Cutter to double their value.
• Land plots. Buy deeds for Deep Dig, Gravel Flats and Sand Dunes for deeper rock and new materials. Each plot has a kiosk that sells upgrades you can't get anywhere else.
• Farming. Fit a Seed Screen to a sluice and you'll find seeds while you wash. Grow Glowroot, Riverbeans and Dune Melons and cook them into food with short boosts: faster digging, faster panning, faster walking.
• Smithing. Lay ingots (mixed metals are fine) and a cut gem on the Smithing Anvil, hit it with the Blacksmith Hammer, and forge rings, necklaces, daggers, axes and swords. Every piece remembers what it was made from, sells for more than its parts, and the best gear goes past diamond. Necklaces can be worn on your head, and with Curios installed you get ring and necklace slots.
• Prospector's Ledger. A free 50 level progression track. Earn Renown from 41 milestones and from normal play, claim a reward at every level, unlock titles that show in chat, and collect decorations you can only get from the Ledger: the Claim Flag, Ore Cart, Tool Rack, Lucky Lantern, Gem Display Case and the Golden Pan Trophy.
• Contracts. The Contract Board in the Trading Post has three orders for you at a time: ingots, gems, crops or smithed pieces. They pay better than the Sell Pad, give Renown, and the big ones can include a crate. New ones every day.
• Mining Crates and skins. Buy crates at the Trading Post or find them in your pan now and then. Skins come with a wear, from Fresh from the Forge to Cave Battered, and are items you can keep or trade. Put them on your drills and sluices at the Skin Bench. Skins are cosmetic only.
• Prospecting. The Prospector's Pick shows where the deeper rock is buried; fit a Sand or Gravel Head for the other plots, or forge the Assayer's Pick to find and count everything around you.
• For server owners and pack makers. Operator commands to check and change progress (/holeydigsite ...), and an in-game shop editor that turns any empty Shop Display into a custom entry for any item at any price.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.x.
• Optional: Curios API for ring and necklace slots.
• Optional: JEI (or EMI) to look up every machine recipe, the panning results and the crate odds.
• Recommended: the Holey Digsite: First Up modpack, which sets up the skyblock start. It uses Skyblock Builder and LibX and makes Holey Digsite the default world type. The mod on its own adds all of the content, but not the starting island.

Fair play

Everything in Holey Digsite is earned in game. Coins, crates, cosmetics and every other reward can only be obtained by playing. Selling any of it for real money, whether crates, coins, items, cosmetics, ranks or any other advantage, directly or indirectly (including on servers or in modpacks that use this mod), is not permitted.
