What's new

2.0.0 - "Be The House" - 2026-08-09

Run your own casino. Everything below rides ONE server toggle, allowPlayerCasinos, default off - a server that never flips it plays exactly like 1.0.0, byte for byte. That is not a promise, it is an assertion: the test suite pins the toggle-off path inert, so upgrading a server that never enables player casinos sees zero behaviour change. Requires Coinkeep 1.1.0+ (1.0.0 accepted Coinkeep 1.0.0) - update Coinkeep in the same pass; Highroller 2.0.0 against Coinkeep 1.0.0 will not load.

  • The Casino Cage ($50,000) - the bank block that turns a floor into a business. Place it, fund it from your own Coinkeep balance, link the tables around it: from then on their stakes bank into the cage's bankroll and their wins pay out of it, 24/7, operator online or not. Solvency is structural: every bet reserves its maximum payout before it is accepted, so a cage can go bust but can never owe money it doesn't hold. The server burns a configurable cut of operator withdrawals (default 10%), so the economy keeps its money sink even with a hundred player casinos running.
  • Your odds, your limits, your name. Five games take a per-cage RTP knob (slots, wheel, dice, high-low, creeper sweeper), clamped to the server's floor and ceiling (85-98% defaults); per-cage stake limits and rake ride alongside. The casino's name heads every linked table's odds line - "The Lucky Creeper - pays 91.7%" - and naming is treated as the moderation surface it is: an op can rename or clear ANY casino from the cage or any table it banks, whoCanName restricts or locks naming, every change lands in the server log with who/where/old/new, and casinoNameBlocklist ships empty for servers that want one.
  • The number on the table is the number that pays. What a table publishes and what it pays are one shared call, proven by a build-time test that measures every payout function - every reel, segment, throw, card and tile - across the whole tuning band. And the price cannot move after you have paid it: high-low climbs and sweeper boards lock their rate the moment the stake goes in, and every pot game (lottery, bookmaker, bingo, race, duel) locks its rake the moment the pool opens. Retunes land on the next bet, never on a live pot.
  • Manage the floor from the GUI. The Cage dashboard is two pages: BANK (bankroll / available / reserved / lifetime take, deposit and withdraw) and FLOOR (every bankable table in link range, nearest first, with one-click LINK / UNLINK / MOVE). Open the cage and your floor lights up gold; a table banking for the wrong casino lights up red. Sneak-use a table for a clickable chat picker of your cages; the /highroller cage commands stay as fallbacks.
  • Purchase-only, on purpose. Zero recipes - all 90 catalog entries are bought from a Highroller tab of the Coinkeep shop (this is the Coinkeep 1.1.0 requirement). The ladder runs $50 carpet to a $250,000 Grand Casino; the Cage is $50,000, and Dice / High-Low tables dropped to $5,000 as the entry rung. A bought casino is a ledger anyone can walk through - the building is the balance sheet. JEI (optional) shows the live shop price on every item's info page.
  • The Pit Boss Handbook - a seven-chapter in-game guide, handed out on first join and $100 in the shop. Its odds table is generated from the same numbers the payout code uses, so the book cannot drift from the machines.
  • "The House" quest chapter - five Ledger quests for the operator side: claim a Cage, fund it, link a table, bank a losing bet, count the take. $15,000. A separate chapter on purpose, so the High Roller capstone stays completable on servers that keep the pure sink.
  • Blueprints build anywhere. The site check flipped from a whitelist to a blacklist: a paste clears its own ground and stops for exactly four things - anything unbreakable, any container, another player's casino, and a Cage with money in it - naming the block and its coordinates. blueprintSiteRule = STRICT restores the old natural-terrain-only rule. (Plainly: PERMISSIVE can overwrite a hand-laid path, because Minecraft records no placer for a plain block. The first click is always a free preview.)
  • The tables look like tables. The nine card & dice tables are skirted furniture now - inset body, overhanging rail, felt on top - so a pit reads as a casino floor instead of a stack of crates. The machines stay cabinets. Nothing about placement, collision or clicking changed.
  • Breaking a live table refunds the felt - all of it. Blackjack, high-low, video poker, casino war and the creeper sweeper had no break-refund path at all: a pickaxe through a live hand binned the stake, and in operator mode dead-locked that bet's slice of the cage's reserve forever (a broken video-poker machine could strand 800x the stake). All five now refund and release through one seam, the way the pot games always did.
  • Fairness fix worth naming: the published-odds lie. Two of the five knob games (high-low, sweeper) printed the operator's number and paid the server's. That is exactly the scam this mod exists to make impossible. Fixed as architecture - one shared source for published and paid - and a build test now fails any future tunable game that ships without proving the two agree.
  • 180 GameTests (from 86 at 1.0.0): cage solvency under concurrent exposure, dollar-exact conservation per game, the published-odds measurement suite, purchase-only obtainability, break-refunds, the rake/rate locks surviving save-and-load, quest and handbook audits, and the toggle-off inertness assertions.
