HighCraft Fabric [v2.0.2]
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Changelog
2.0.2 — Update notifications
Nothing changes in the game itself. If you are already on 2.0.1 there is no hurry — this only adds the plumbing that tells you about future releases.
- The mod now checks for new versions and says so in the NeoForge mod list, so you are not left on an old build without knowing.
- Added an issue tracker link to both loaders, so reporting a bug is one click from the mod list instead of a search.
2.0.1 — Crossbreeding actually works
2.0.0 was never published. This is the first public 2.x release, so everything listed under 2.0.0 below is new to you as well — the multiloader rewrite, the quality system, drying and curing, the rolling table, butter, filter tips, the trader villager, the advancements and the Jade/JEI/EMI support. Read both sections.
Growing
- Crossbreeding was effectively broken. It rolled a 12% chance on every
random tick, and a given block only gets a random tick about once a minute, so
a single quality step took around ten minutes of pure luck with nothing to
show for it. Plants now schedule their own upgrade attempt at a set, slightly
randomised time — one minute to reach Premium, two for Primo, three for
Legendary. It is saved with the world and no longer depends on
randomTickSpeed. - Primo and Legendary now require an indoor grow: no open sky above the plant, and a grow lamp within range. Normal → Premium still works in an ordinary outdoor field. A plant that does not qualify keeps trying, so you can build the room later without replanting.
- Plants get visibly taller with quality — Normal one block, Legendary nearly two — so you can read a field at a glance.
- Quality colouring is much subtler. Full recolouring turned high-quality plants purple and orange, which stopped looking like cannabis; now it is a tint over the original green.
- Upgrading now has a visible burst of particles over the whole plant, bigger the higher the quality, with an extra flourish for Legendary.
Grow Lamp
- Rebuilt as a real UV grow panel: a custom hanging model with a heat sink, a recessed board of 49 diodes, and a magenta haze drifting down onto the crops. It shows the 3D model in the inventory.
- Note that Minecraft has no coloured block light, so the light it casts is still white. The haze is the closest a mod can get without shaders.
Fixes
- Mature plants changed silhouette on ripening. Growth stages used the cross model while the ripe stage used the four-plane wheat model.
- Jade now says why a plant has stopped improving, instead of only saying it can improve.
- JEI and EMI have a crossbreeding entry. It was the one mechanic that happens on its own, with nothing to click, and so the easiest to never discover.
- The bundled
LICENSEfile said CC0 while the mod metadata declared CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The licence is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Config
crossbreedChanceis gone, replaced bycrossbreedDelayTicks(default1200, one minute). Old config files keep working; the stale key is ignored.
2.0.0 — Multiloader rewrite (never published)
HighCraft now runs on both Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1, from a single shared codebase. One jar per loader, no extra libraries to install.
Growing
- Plant quality is now a real system. A mature plant next to another mature plant of equal or better quality can improve over time, so you work your way up Normal → Premium → Primo → Legendary instead of relying on luck.
- Seeds inherit their plant's quality, so a good genetic line is yours to keep. Harvest a plant early and you only get a plain seed back.
- Grow Lamp: speeds up nearby crops and emits light, so you can farm underground. Works on vanilla crops too.
Drying and curing
- Where you put the drying rack matters. In direct sunlight it dries fast but each step risks losing quality; in the shade it is slower and preserves it.
- Over-drying: leave it unattended once it is done and it degrades.
- Curing Barrel: rest dried marijuana for a day and it comes out one quality better. Caps at Primo — Legendary only comes from crossbreeding.
Preparing
- Rolling Table: 3 joints per unit instead of 2, and you can mix qualities for an average result. Shows the loaded paper and herb on the table.
- Cannabis Butter: cook dried marijuana in a water cauldron placed over fire, then bake it into brownies and cookies.
- Filter Tips: hold one in your off hand while smoking for a shorter but much gentler high.
- The wood pipe is now loaded explicitly and shows what quality it holds.
Effects
- Comedown when the high wears off, and extra penalties once your tolerance gets high.
- Screen tint while high, greener and stronger the purer the strain.
- Tolerance is shown in the action bar as you consume.
Quality of life
- Cannabis Trader villager with a five-level trade list, working at a drying rack.
- 8 advancements guiding you from first seed to a legendary strain.
- Jade, JEI and EMI support (all optional): block state at a glance, and a recipe category explaining every process that is not a vanilla recipe.
- Cannabis is compostable.
- Configurable in
config/highcraft.json. - Spanish (Spain) and Latin American Spanish are now distinct translations.
Fixes
- Tolerance never worked. It was written to a throwaway NBT tag, so it always read 0 and the high always lasted the same.
- Edibles used a real-time background thread, which ignored game pause and could fire after leaving the world.
- Bong smoke particles were invisible to everyone, and the bong ignored the quality you loaded it with.
- The drying rack and bong blocked skylight as if they were solid cubes.
- 15 of 28 textures were 1×1 pixel placeholders — the blunt, bong, pipe, drying rack, brownies and every premium and primo variant. All redrawn.
- The
Higheffect had no icon and showed the missing-texture placeholder. - Finished products now stack to 16 instead of 64.
