Hide & Seek

inspired by CraftyBoss' SMO Online Hide & Seek

This mod allows you to play Hide & Seek with your friends. The best part? The mod is only required on the server! No client mod

How to use the mod?

Install the Neoforge/Fabric (whichever corresponds) mod onto your server
Restart/start the server
Make sure your account has OP
Have at least 2 people on your server (including you)
Type /starthideandseek. This starts a new game with everybody who is online (non spectator). Randomly picks a seeker(s) (seeker number can be customized in config), blinds and freezes them, everyone else gets to hide for 30 seconds (or whatever you configured)

How do you seek?

When you are allowed to start moving, you need to try to find players. Once you find a player, you can hit them with your bare hands and they will be gone in an instant. Also entering someone will also kill them

How do you hide?

When the game gets started, you have 30 seconds (or whatever is configured, for the second time) to find a hiding spot. You need to try to survive until the last second. The last survivor wins the round.

I am making a video with multiple rounds, how do I decide who wins?

When you are hiding you have a timer at the bottom of the screen that persists between rounds, after how much rounds you want, you can ask everyone for their timer and deduct the winner from there.

Is there a grace period?

If you die before the seeker gets released, you are still a hider. Be careful though, after the seeker's released, if you die, you aren't lucky this time

Commands:

/starthideandseek - Start a new round and pick a random seeker
/stophideandseek - End the current round (doesn't reset the timer)
/resettimer - Reset timer for EVERY player
/resettimer <player> - Reset timer only for that player
/forceseeker <player> - Forces a person to be a seeker. If its before the game starts, they will be the seeker next round, if during the round, they will be immediately switched to seeker

Setting | Default | Meaning

seekerCount | 1 | How much seekers are picked by default

blindDurationSeconds | 30 | How much seconds are seekers not able to move & blinded at start

minPlayersToStart | 2 | Minimum online players needed to start (or else error)
