# Hex Research (Unofficial)

> An addon to Hex Casting that provides alternative ways to accomplish Hexcasting progression.

## About This Port

This mod is an **unofficial, community-maintained port** of [HexResearch](https://github.com/dashkal16/HexResearch) by
**Dashkal**, a popular Hex Casting addon that was originally built for Minecraft 1.19.2.

I tried to contact the original author about updating it to 1.20.1, but I was unable to reach them. Since the project is open-sourced under the **MIT license** and was clearly enjoyed by the community, I decided to make this 1.20.1 port myself, so players on newer versions can keep using it.

- This is **NOT** the original HexResearch, and it is **not** maintained, endorsed, or affiliated with its original
author in any way.
- If Dashkal ever releases an updated version of HexResearch, **I will remove this project immediately** and direct everyone to the official release.

## What's Included

- Alternative ways to progress through Hexcasting.
- **Cognitive Inducer** — a device that slowly cultivates an artificial mind from nearby villagers.
- **Thought Sieve** — a great spell that filters Nature's answers through a villager's mind to learn great spells.
- **Imbue Mind** — a great spell that transfers a cultivated mind into a construction.
- **Villager actions** — spells to read a villager's profession rank and your popularity with them.
- **Mind Fatigue** effect, Patchouli documentation woven into the Hex Book.

- Minecraft **1.20.1** (Forge 47+)
- Architectury **9+**
- Kotlin for Forge **4.3+**
- Hex Casting **0.11.3+**
