Hermes Bridge is a
server-side NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that lets players talk to an external Hermes-powered assistant directly from in-game chat and commands —
without requiring any client-side installation. Built for multiplayer servers, Hermes Bridge captures live server context, sends structured requests to an external bridge service, and returns short Minecraft-friendly responses. It supports both normal player questions and a separate
admin lane for server staff, while keeping the actual permission checks on the Minecraft server where they belong.

Why this mod exists
Most “AI in Minecraft” ideas either shove too much logic into the mod itself or ignore security boundaries entirely. Hermes Bridge keeps the Java side focused on what it should actually own:
- chat + command integration
- context capture
- permission checks
- execution guardrails (1/3)
