The Wilderness Bound drop is by far one of the best Minecraft drop so far. It finally introduced some long-requested features
like concrete slabs and stairs, wool slabs and stairs, red leaves and more…
However, it still feels incomplete. That's where Hendrix's Better Wilderness Bound comes in!
This mod aims to improve the Wilderness Bound drop and make it even better by introducing new blocks, mobs, foods and game mechanics
Calcite finally has its own block set, made by slabs, stairs, walls and variants.
These new blocks can be obtained by crafting or by using the Stonecutter.
Concrete Walls has been added to complete the Concrete block set.
In addition, Terracotta and Glazed Terracotta got their slabs, stairs and walls. Glass, Tinted Glass and Stained Glass slabs and stairs has also been added.
Can be crafted like regular slabs, stairs and walls.
Tinted Glass slabs and stairs propagate light unlike the full block Glazed Terracotta slabs, stairs and walls don't attach to Slime Blocks like the full blocks
New dappled-themed moss blocks has been added.
Red, Yellow and Orange Moss Blocks can be obtained randomly by using bonemeal on the grass in the Dappled Forest.
They can be turned into carpets and can be composted like other Moss Blocks.
Alongside the Moss Blocks, Yellow and Orange Shrubs have been added. The new Shrubs will randomly
generate in the Dappled Forest.
Red Shrubs can now also be potted, as well as the Yellow and Orange ones.
Additionally, if you grow a Poplar Tree on a Red, Yellow or Orange Block, you will always get a Poplar Tree with the Red, Yellow or Orange leaves respectively, and not a randomized one.
Marshmallows are a new type of food that can be crafted using a stick and a piece of sugar.
They can be cooked while aiming very close at a campfire.
After 10 seconds the marshmallow will be cooked (raw marshmallows cannot be eaten).
Restores 2 hunger points and 0.5 saturation, but can be eaten quickly and will return the stick after
Brown Bears will now spawn in the Dappled Forest
They act similar to Polar Bears but, unlike them, they freeze in the Powder Snow.
Drops Salmon.
They will try to catch Salmons in a one-block deep water and also empty Bee Nests or Bee Hives if there's some honey inside
Wolves will spawn in the Dappled Forest with a new variant: the Auburn Wolf
Shelf Mushrooms can now generate on Birch Trees as well
Fences and Walls can now be disconnected from Blocks when right-clicked with an Axe or a Pickaxe respectively.
This will only work for blocks, you can't disconnect two fences or walls that are connected to each others.
Pumpkin Patches will sometimes generate in the Dappled Forest
A new Armor Smithing Template has been added: Explorer.
One can be found in the Abandoned Campsite Secret Chests with a 10% chance.
Can be duplicated using Calcite
One Explorer Pottery Sherds can now be found in all types of Abandoned Campsite Chests with a 7.5% chance
Anyone can contribute to Better Wilderness Bound, suggesting their ideas using the Feature Request module
