Welcome to HBM: Hamster Reloaded!

HBM: Hamster Reloaded is a community-led continuation of the classic Hbm's Nuclear Tech Mod, developed by Hamster Systems.

Build vast industrial facilities, experiment with radioactive materials, develop sophisticated weapons, launch missiles and harness nuclear energy. From complex processing chains to colossal reactors, every advancement brings new opportunities—and new dangers.

Our primary focus is bringing the HBM experience to Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge, while preserving the existing Minecraft 1.12.2 edition for players and modpacks that still use it.

☢ What Can You Do in HBM?

The HBM experience includes:

• Nuclear reactors and power systems — Construct complex facilities and manage the risks of nuclear energy.
• Missiles, bombs and weapons — Develop advanced weaponry, from conventional equipment to devastating nuclear technology.
• Industrial machinery — Refine materials, automate production and build enormous manufacturing systems.
• Radiation and environmental hazards — Handle dangerous substances and deal with the consequences of contamination.
• Science and resource processing — Work through extensive crafting and production chains to reach increasingly powerful technologies.
• Multiplayer chaos — Team up to build a facility—or test your defences against your friends.

Warning: A badly managed reactor can turn your carefully built base into a very expensive crater.

Feature availability varies by Minecraft version and release. The list above describes the wider HBM experience, not a promise that every feature is already playable in 1.21.1.

🚀 Minecraft 1.21.1 — Main Development

The next chapter of HBM:HR is being developed for Minecraft 1.21.1 using NeoForge.

Our initial goal is to restore and modernise as much of the original HBM gameplay as possible before expanding it with HBM:HR-exclusive content. This means work on blocks, items, machines, reactors, weapons, world generation, rendering, user interfaces and multiplayer compatibility.

We also want community feedback to help shape future updates. Have an idea for a machine, structure, mechanic or quality-of-life improvement? Share it in our Discord community.

Please note: Do not use older Forge releases with NeoForge 1.21.1. Download a file specifically marked for your Minecraft version and mod loader.

🏛 Minecraft 1.12.2 — Legacy Edition

Our Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge edition remains available for anyone who enjoys the older version of HBM:HR.

This is now a legacy edition: the existing experience is being preserved, with development effort focused primarily on Minecraft 1.21.1. Do not expect the 1.12.2 edition to receive every new feature planned for the modern port.

Installing the 1.12.2 edition

1. Install Minecraft Forge for 1.12.2.
2. Download the appropriate HBM:HR .jar from the Files tab.
3. Put the .jar in your Minecraft mods folder.
4. Start Minecraft using the Forge profile.

Recommended: Just Enough Items (JEI) to navigate the mod's extensive crafting and processing recipes.

A: No. Hamster Reloaded is an independently developed community continuation based on the HBM mod and its community ports.

Q: Which Minecraft version is the priority?
A: Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge is our main focus.

Q: Is Minecraft 1.12.2 still available?
A: Yes. Existing 1.12.2 Forge releases remain available as a legacy edition.

Q: Can I install a 1.12.2 release on 1.21.1?
A: No. The Minecraft versions and mod loaders are different. Always download the correct file.
