GTC's Animated Ideas

Bringing GarrettTheCarrot's community-sourced Minecraft ideas to life, one animation at a time.

GtC's Animated Ideas is a Fabric mod that implements the viewer-submitted features from GarrettTheCarrot's "Animating Your Minecraft Ideas" series - the genuinely useful and (eventually) the gloriously chaotic. Every feature is built to match the spirit of the animation that inspired it.

The mod is released by episode: each update adds the ideas from another part of the series. Everything is individually toggleable through an in-game config screen, so you can run the whole collection or cherry-pick exactly the features you want.

Requirements: Minecraft 1.21(more to come), Fabric Loader, Fabric API, Cloth Config, Mod Menu

Status: Parts 1 and 2 are fully fleshed out. Part 3 is the active episode (several features done, more to come). Parts 4 and beyond are on the roadmap.

Implemented

Standalone (from before the 'Animated Ideas' series)

• Parrots on Armor Stands - perch a shoulder parrot onto an armor stand for decoration.
• Block breaking Shadow in Bedrock (this is Java)
• Gunpowder in Furnaces - smelting gunpowder is a GREAT idea-
• Logical Stairs & Trapdoors - crafting stairs only cost THREE for FOUR stairs, and trapdoors yield a 'REASONABLE' amount.

Part 1 (complete)

• Placeable Gunpowder - lay gunpowder on the ground to build fuses, then light it with flint and steel.
• Nice Canvases - wall-mounted 16x16 canvases in all 16 dye colors plus a transparent variant. Paint pixel-by-pixel with a brush + dye, sample colors with the eyedropper (pick-block), and seal your art with honeycomb.
• Ingot Repairable Anvils - mend a chipped or damaged anvil one stage with an iron ingot, or fully restore it with an iron block.
• END UPDATE (NOPE!)
• Co-op Mining - blocks break faster when multiple players mine them together.
• Air Fryer - twice as fast as a smoker but also twice as HUNGRY
• Placeable..Milk - bucket of milk, but works the way water does (not infinite).
• SANDWICH!!! - 2 bread + anything. it will add two breads worth of hunger honches to the thing. I got real dumb with this one. (art to be improved over time)

Part 2 (complete)

• Placeable Pumpkin Pie - set pumpkin pie down like a cake and eat it slice by slice
• Splash Potion of Milk - a throwable potion that clears status effects in an area of effect.
• Doodle Books - MS Paint style drawing interface inside a book.
• Jungle Villages (sorry this is also way too huge a feature T>T)
• Dangerous Stonecutters - stonecutters now hurt entities that stand on them.
• Physical Trident Hitboxes (might be tweaked later) - tridents stuck in the ground become solid enough to stand on.

Part 3 (In Progress)

• Cheese Blocks - fill a cauldron with a milk bucket and it curdles into a cheese block; uncraft that into nine edible cheese slices.
• Cooking Eggs - cook an egg in a furnace, smoker, air fryer, or campfire for an edible fried egg.
• Sleeping Bags - 3 wool + 3 string; sleep through the night WITHOUT resetting your spawn point.
• Trumpets - a gold trumpet that toots low, mid, or high depending on where you're looking (placeholder sounds for now).
• Frying Pan (bonus) - floats on top of a lit campfire and fries up to four foods at twice campfire speed; raw eggs even render as little sunny-side-up eggs while they cook. Doubles as a goofy melee weapon.
