# Of the Pleebs, and Their Ways in the World

*Being a true and faithful account of those curious folk known as Pleebs, who wander the lands of Minecraft and are unlike all creatures that came before them.*

## I. Of Their Nature

The **Pleebs** are a people apart. They are not villagers, nor are they beasts, nor servants of any lord. They spawn naturally in the open lands, upon grass and mud and honest earth, in small bands of no more than a dozen — and they stay, for they do not despawn and they do not forget.

Each Pleeb carries within them a **living mind** — driven by a local large language model (llama.cpp, Qwen, or similar) — which grants them genuine speech, honest memory, and a character entirely their own. No two Pleebs are alike. No script was written for what they will say to you. Their words rise from who they are.

## II. Of Their Identity

When first a Pleeb steps into the world, they are given:

- A **name** — chosen by the AI itself, drawn from the music of the language: names such as *Aldric Bramblewood*, *Elara Fenwhistle*, or *Sage Runecroft*.

- A **gender and pronouns** — man, woman, or nonbinary, each with their pool of names fitting.

- A **backstory** — one to three sentences of history, seeded at birth and never changed.

- A **primary goal** — what they strive toward in this present age of their life.

- A **mood** — one of ten living emotional states that colours every word they speak:

`CONTENT`, `HAPPY`, `EXCITED`, `BORED`, `ANXIOUS`, `SAD`, `ANGRY`, `SUSPICIOUS`, `LOVESTRUCK`, or `MISCHIEVOUS`.

- A **unique skin** — a player-model appearance, slim or wide, assigned by the AI to match their name and character.

## III. Of Their Traits

*Fifty and more traits have been catalogued by scholars of the Pleeb-kind. A Pleeb may carry several at once, and these shape every word and deed:*

Each trait injects **roleplay directives** into every AI prompt, ensuring the Pleeb never abandons their nature in conversation.

## IV. Of Their Callings

Every Pleeb takes up a **career** — a calling of labour by which they contribute to their small society. These are known:

| **WIZARD** | Enchants gear and speaks of arcane matters with great authority |

| **ARCHER** | Ranged combatant; takes to elevated positions when threatened |

| **DANCER** / **BARTENDER** / **WAITER** | Entertain the folk and maintain the hall |

| **HAULER** | Carries resources from source to destination without complaint |

| **FORESTER** | Tends to the trees and sees to their long-term health |

| **ROBBER** | Takes what they want. The law is a suggestion to them. |

A Pleeb may hold a **primary career** and one or more **secondary callings**, plus custom tags that further describe their specialties.

## V. Of the Maze Towers

*Here is told the greatest work of the Builder Pleebs — their towers of winding stone.*

Each Builder Pleeb raises, over time, **their own personal maze tower** — a structure of **deepslate brick**, three stories high, filled with branching corridors, dead ends, and at least one true path from entrance to goal. No two towers are alike, for each is generated by seed from the Pleeb's home position and the nature of the land.

The towers are **the Pleebs' shelter**. Within their walls the folk sleep, store their goods, and take refuge from the darkness. The towers rise from the terrain's median height — foundations reach no deeper than four blocks, so as not to break the bones of the earth beneath.

At each floor's exit stands a **ladder shaft** leading to the floor above and the floor below. The towers grow upward at a measured pace: the Builder places only a few columns of walls each work cycle, materials permitting, so the tower rises slowly over days as a patient craft.

**Maze quality is scored** before construction begins: turn-ratio, dead-end density, junction density, and path coverage are all weighed. Only mazes of sufficient complexity are accepted.

## VI. Of Their Social Life

The Pleebs are not solitary. They **remember**, they **bond**, and sometimes they **quarrel**.

- Every interaction between a Pleeb and a player — click, gift, strike, speech, gossip, emote — changes the **relationship** between them: trust, affection, fear, respect are all tracked.

- The **memory** of these interactions is persisted in SQLite and lives beyond restarts.

- When bonds grow deep enough, Pleebs may produce a **Pleeb Egg** — which hatches after a time into a new Pleeb, passing through stages of **BABY**, **CHILD**, and **ADULT** as the game-ticks accumulate.

- Population is managed by policy: fertility cooldowns and regional caps keep the folk from overwhelming the land.

## VII. Of Speaking With Them

A player may address a Pleeb in several ways:

- **Right-click** — a neighbourly greeting; trust and affection increase.

- **Give a gift** — a generous show of goodwill; greatly improves relations.

- **Strike them** — they remember this. Trust falls sharply. Fear rises.

- **Chat in-game** — any nearby chat that names a Pleeb is routed to the AI pipeline, which composes a response in character.

- **`/pleebtell <name> <message>`** — address a specific Pleeb by first or full name from up to 128 blocks away. The AI responds in their voice.

The Pleeb detects the **sentiment** of messages — good words, ill words, or neutral — and adjusts the interaction type accordingly.

## VIII. Of Their Survival

Pleebs are not without courage, nor without sense.

- They carry **melee attacks** (3 damage) and will raise their fists and held weapons against any Monster that comes near.

- **All monsters** — skeletons, zombies, creepers, and their kin — now recognise the Pleebs as prey and will target them. The wilderness is not safe for the folk.

- **At night**, when the sky grows dark, Pleebs seek their towers and take their rest — but they will **not sleep** while hostile creatures are within sixteen blocks. If mobs are near, they rise, take up arms, and fight.

- Each Pleeb is **tethered to their home position**. They do not wander beyond the radius of their own towers for long; if drawn too far, they find their way back.

- Pleebs pick up **tools, armor, food, and weapons** that fall near them, and equip what serves them best.

## IX. Of Their Economy

The Pleebs maintain a **chest network** — four starter chests are bootstrapped at first arrival in an unsettled region, stocking iron picks, axes, wood, stone, and seeds. From these the economy begins:

- **DEPOT** chests receive gathered goods.

- **MINE** and **LUMBER** chests source raw materials for the Builder.

- Pleebs haul stacks between these nodes according to their assigned tasks.

- The **BUILDER** must consume real building materials from chests before placing walls in the world.
