Grudge — Zombies Remember
Ever noticed zombies keep walking into the same trap, no matter how many died there minutes ago? Not anymore.
Grudge gives hostile mobs a simple collective memory. When too many zombies (or husks, drowned) die in the same spot within a short time, that spot becomes a grudge zone — and mobs start avoiding it.
No mob is individually "smart." The world just remembers where death happens a lot, and every mob of that family reads the same memory. It feels like emergent intelligence — because it kind of is.
How it works:
- Repeated deaths in one area build up a grudge zone
- Low: mobs sometimes reroute around it
- Medium: mobs hesitate and slow down before entering
- High: mobs avoid it like lava, and spawning is suppressed there
- Zones fade over time if left alone
Why you'll like it:
- Farms keep working, but need occasional relocating instead of running forever unchanged
- Adds light strategy to mob farming and base defense, no vanilla balance breaks
- Fully configurable: death threshold, grid size, decay speed, affected mobs, spawn suppression toggle
