What's new

Grim Storage Industries 1.14.0

Everything new since 1.7.1

Machine Bus (new)

Clip it onto a machine like a bus, and the network uses that machine for autocrafting. No cards needed.

  • Learns every recipe of furnaces, smokers and blast furnaces, and machines from Mekanism (item machines, factories and the chemical machines), Create, Ender IO, Ars Nouveau, Immersive Engineering, Powah, Modern Industrialization, Oritech and Actually Additions. Other mods' machines often work too, when the machine's name matches its recipes.
  • Keeps machines running: furnaces get fuel, powered machines get energy, and tanks get fluids and chemicals, all from your network.
  • Takes back everything a machine makes, extras like sawdust included, plus any fluids and chemicals it makes.
  • Whole machine lines plan as one craft: order Iron Crystals and the network runs the Chemical Washer, then the Crystallizer. Missing fluids and chemicals get crafted when a machine can make them.
  • Ars Nouveau Imbuement Chamber runs on your Source cells. It gets exactly the Source each recipe costs, no jars.
  • Opens Mekanism machine sides by itself. Sides you already set are left alone.
  • Shares big jobs: 64 ore on 4 furnaces cooks 4 times as fast.
  • Holds 9 Processing Cards for any other machine.
  • Pack makers can add any machine with a datapack file: data/<pack>/grimstorage_machines/<name>.json.

Autocrafting

  • Craft preview: before you confirm, see every step, what it takes from storage, anything missing (in red) and roughly how long it will take.
  • Crafting queue: move jobs up or down (shift-click to send one to the top), pause, resume or cancel. Jobs higher up get the assemblers and machines first.
  • Fair sharing: each player can run up to 16 jobs on a network, so one big order can't block everyone. maxJobsPerPlayer and maxJobsPerNetwork are in the config.
  • Any planks will do: Recipe Cards accept any variant the recipe takes. The Any / Exact button switches it off.
  • When something can be made more than one way, the network picks the way you have ingredients for.
  • Craft alerts: a pop-up when your craft is done, or when it has been stuck for a minute.

Write cards without the items

  • Press + on any recipe in JEI, EMI or REI to write a Recipe Card or Processing Card, for any mod's machine, with amounts filled in.
  • Drag items from the recipe viewer onto any card or filter slot.
  • + in the terminal fills the crafting grid from storage. The new pencil button writes the grid onto a card.

Terminal

  • Crafting jobs tab: every job and every step, live: which machine makes it, how many are done, and how many are in machines.
  • Everything tab: items, fluids, chemicals, energy, Source and XP in one list.
  • Craftable tab: only what the network can make.
  • Settings (gear): search synced with JEI, EMI or REI; type to search on open; keep search when closed; size Auto, Normal, Tall or Taller.
  • Hold Shift and nothing moves: keep shift-clicking one spot to keep taking the same item.
  • Alt-click to pin an item to the top, plus a new "recently added" sort.

New blocks and items

  • Chest Link: makes any chest, barrel or drawer part of storage, either both ways, insert only or extract only.
  • Redstone Emitter: a signal when you have at least, or less than, an amount of something. It can also craft the item up to that amount while powered.
  • Soul Wrench: cut and rejoin cable connections, take buses off cable, turn machines to face another way, and sneak-click to pick up Grim Storage blocks.

Multiplayer

  • Networks belong to whoever places the controller. Trust players by name or open the network to everyone, using the key button on the controller. Server operators can always get in.
  • Networks from before 1.13 stay open until someone claims them.

Buses

  • Speed Upgrades in Import and Export Buses: up to 8 per bus, for up to 9x speed.
  • Buses connect to cable visibly from any side.
  • Buses fed by pipes now show "Working".
  • Pipes from other mods notice a bus straight away.

Fixes

  • The terminal's "types" count only counts items you actually have.
  • Fixed reading Ender IO's SAG Mill recipes.
  • On one-slot machines, the Machine Bus no longer pulls an ingredient back out before the machine uses it.
