gregtech6-6.0.0-1.20.1-alpha.1.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
First release of the backport. It is the same mod as the main branch, rebuilt against Minecraft
1.20.1 and NeoForge; everything listed in the earlier entries below is part of it. What follows is
what this branch needed on top of that, in the terms of what you would notice while playing.
Added
- Applied Energistics 2 works alongside GregTech 6 as one progression, on the versions of AE2 that exist for 1.20.1: one wrench for both mods, energy crossing the border in both directions, duplicate machine recipes retired, and sky stone that can be made rather than only found.
- The mod's own fluids are a proper engine fluid on this version too — they freeze, evaporate, fill buckets and interact with the world through the engine rather than beside it.
Fixed
- Hand-built structures could vanish after a server restart. A machine could be removed by the mod's own cleanup because, in a narrow window, the mod could not see a chunk the engine already considered alive. Pipes and machines across a chunk border were the usual casualties. Restart cycles now survive intact; see the note in Known issues about worlds damaged before this build.
- A machine could leave its contents behind or drop nothing at all when broken.
- Items of the mod refused to stack with the same item obtained another way, filling inventories with single-item slots.
- A fresh world could not be created — world generation stopped at "preparing spawn area" and the server sat there forever.
- A burning animal dying in lava crashed the server.
- Vanilla recipes the mod deliberately removes came back in another form, so a furnace could be made from bare cobblestone.
- Geothermal water looked and behaved like ordinary water, and its surface was shaded upside down.
- Bars and fluid displays could not be placed at all; rails and flowers could be placed on nothing.
- Crafting with a bottle or bucket could swallow the container instead of returning it.
- Glass was opaque in the inventory, and glass slabs showed a seam from inside.
- The tooltip plugin failed to load on a dedicated server, and the mod's parts of the tooltip were switched off there.
- The server did not exit after
stop— the world saved, but the process stayed alive. - World generation, chunk loading and lighting no longer stall the way they did on early builds of this branch.
Known issues
- Rarely, world generation can leave an invisible leftover where a machine-like block was meant to be: fewer than one chunk in twenty thousand. It is logged when it happens.
- Worlds damaged by the restart bug above are not repaired — the fix prevents new losses, it cannot bring back what an earlier build removed.
- Oil and gas puddles are not named in the Jade tooltip, the same as on
main; the mechanism is being rebuilt properly for both versions. - This branch has no automated product tests yet — its correctness rests on live test stands and
play testing, while
mainalso has a small automated suite.
