Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Great Sage stops being a voice that reacts and becomes something you can talk to. It has an interface now, it looks at what you do, and it reads the world for you. 759 sound files, up from 569.
The Great Sage menu
Press G — only if you actually carry the Great Sage skill, otherwise the key does nothing and tells you why.
The shell does not fade in. Its thirty edges fly in from outside the screen, each one spinning, trailing behind it, and locking into place with a flash. They land exactly where the rotating core draws them, so the handover between the assembly and the living core is invisible. Closing plays it backwards.
The faculties orbit around the core, tied to it by sagging threads. They are not a list of buttons sitting in front of Great Sage — they are its own abilities turning around it.
Analyzing
Great Sage breaks a skill down so you master it without using it.
Your skills float in a constellation, grouped by class. Pick one and it asks before starting, because the price is real: the skill cannot be used while it is being analysed. That is enforced server side, not just written in a tooltip.
Duration scales with rarity — twice as long for a common, eight times for an ultimate. Progress lives on the server, so closing the menu, changing dimension or logging out changes nothing. A gauge in the top right corner fills up; click it for a card with the skill name and a red cross to stop.
When it finishes you get full mastery, and the announce differs depending on where you are. In the menu, Great Sage just speaks. Outside, you get the full thing: the skill name slams in with its impact sound, and anything the new mastery unlocked gets folded into the same announce instead of stacking a second one.
Records
Every skill in the pack, not just yours. Class, whether you own it, mastery percentage, magicule cost to learn it, and which mod it comes from — useful when you have no idea which addon added the thing.
Click a line for a full sheet. Search with the magnifier.
No acquisition conditions. The mod does not expose them, unlike species, and copying them from a wiki would be wrong at the next addon update.
Observations
Everything you have scanned, kept on file. The creature's 3D model, its species, its abilities grouped by class, and its average existence value across every reading with the sample count next to it. Two goblins are not the same goblin and an individual grows, so keeping the last number seen would be keeping an accident.
One file per save. What Great Sage learned in one world does not follow you into another.
Assess mode
V opens the eye, B locks a target and holds to scan it.
The interface disappears exactly like F1, and a blue filter drops over the world with a single reticle in the middle. Every living thing gets an aura sized by its existence value, on a logarithmic scale so a creature a thousand times stronger does not fill the screen. Auras go through walls — an aura is a reading of power, not an object in the world.
Hold the key and stay within 32 blocks and the ring fills. Let go and it drops back. When it completes you get species, existence value, health and the five rarest abilities, and the sheet lands in Observations.
Standing near something far above you makes you sick — the real game nausea, level 3, level 4 if the gap is huge. It stops when you walk away.
And not everything can be read. Past ten times your own existence value the target refuses. Great Sage says so, the screen tears itself apart, the mode cuts out and you eat fifteen seconds of nausea. Nothing about the target is revealed.
Quiet announce mode
New option, off by default. Instead of taking the whole screen for a skill, Great Sage slides in from the bottom right corner and speaks in a small bubble. Nothing gets darkened, you keep playing. Same voice, same timing.
Ceremonies and evolutions always keep the full presentation, whatever you set.
Great Sage talks to you now
Thirty new lines it says on its own while you play. Ore hidden behind the block you just broke, a cavity under your feet, lava three blocks away, something walking up behind you, a tool about to break, a better pickaxe sleeping in your bag, an abnormally magicule-dense area, your existence value getting close to an evolution.
Two guards keep it from becoming a parrot: a general silence between any two comments, and per comment its own cooldown plus usually a cap. "It's dark here" is worth saying six times, not sixty. Anything that can kill you has no cap — you never get tired of being told you are on fire. Both settings are configurable, and enableTips = false kills the whole thing.
Species voices
All 68 Tensura: Reincarnated species are now voiced, which is what 0.0.3 promised. On top of that, 72 addon species: 49 from Ascension, 13 from SlimeThroneExtras, 9 from Jeremis Tensura. 140 species in total.
Fixes
- Predator triggered ten announces in a row. It hands out skills in waves a few seconds apart and the grouping window expired between them. A normal announce now stays open like a ceremony, so latecomers join it instead of starting a new one.
- Assess mode showed a stale existence value. It was read client side, and Minecraft does not sync that field — it sat on whatever it was at load time. Everything comes from the server now, twice a second, which also fixed aura sizes and the nausea threshold that never fired.
- Every creature listed every resistance. Technically true, since they all carry the whole set, but most of it is dormant potential and it gave a rabbit the sheet of a Demon Lord. Only mastered resistances are reported.
- The species sheet would not scroll. The ability list was laid out in two columns, which reset the cursor halfway, so the computed height only covered the last column and scrolling thought it had nothing to do.
- Config comments are in English. They were in French. Sorry.
Still a beta. Bug reports and missing lines are genuinely useful. If a skill announces with a silent gap where its name should be, the clip just is not recorded yet and adding it takes minutes.
