What's new

Gravesend Beta 0.70.2 - Major GUI changes, HUD changes, balencing, new NPCs

Changes to HUD & GUI:

  • Removed blood cells when bleeding, bleeding will now show as cracked red hearts
  • Hypothermia will now show as cracked frostbit hearts
  • Infections will now show as cracked green hearts

Losing all hearts to special hearts will cause you to die

  • Thirst Bar moved to hotbar area, now sits below xp bar and uses older percentage system, percentage does not display, dropping below 50% causes loss of running, this will be changed in a future update to include a line that tells the player when it's crossed 25%, which will cause running loss instead of 50%
  • Temperature will now display by itself at the top, with a windchill warning in cold environments, windchill as a reminder causes hypothermic hearts to deposit onto your inventory faster than normal accumulation in groups
  • Removed Hypothermia, Heatstroke, and Shivering warnings from temperature area

Health Chart Changes:

  • The health chart is now always viewable in the inventory, and appears in a condensed form on the right hand side of the screen when the GUI is opened, click on ailments to view cards like before
  • Health ailments will now display with quick easy to read bullet points, giving a player a fast and easy to digest explaination of what's going on

Spawning Changes:

  • Disabled spawning in arctic glacier and alpine tundra, as well as Great American Deserts unless near an oasis, as these biomes are uninhabitible spawns
  • Ocean spawning disabled, corrected various ocean related model textures like mussels and beached mussels
  • Skeletons will now spawn with gear proportional to the player, a skeleton that spawns with a spear will only have one throw then switch to a melee weapon so that players can fairly fight skeletons

Copper Changes:

Retextured various copper tools, molds, and items, more will be retextured in a near future update

  • Added various Neolithic Furniture items and props, which are craftable and obtainable in survival mode, can be used to decorate your base, shelves store and display items, tanning rack now only accepts 2 items per appliance but has been remodelled, thatch baskets can also store items

Bronze:

Tin ore will now spawn, with cassiterite enriched grain blocks (sand/clay/gravel) that will spawn in some waterways, a Bronze pickaxe was also added and will be craftable soon

Neolithic Villages:

  • Neolithic NPCs have been added, and will spawn in Neolithic Villages, which appear in grassland biomes
  • Males are hostile and will attack on sight, males will stop pursuing player if they leave village
  • Females are neutral, attacking one will either result in her fleeing the area or pulling out a knife and retaliating
  • New thatch block variants can be crafted or found in Neolithic Villages

Caveman Caves:

  • Will spawn at the base of cliffs and edges, contain a tribe of cavemen, cavemen as mentioned in previous updates are peaceful unless the player attempts to interact with their stuff or attacks one of them
