GraveDungeons

A mod that adds sculk themed puzzle based dungeons to your world!

This mod aims to add new puzzle-based type dungeons to your world in the form of Sculk-themed "Graves", so far there are 3 structures you can find out in your world, with hopefully more on the way! :D

Small Dungeon:

Medium Dungeon:

Large Dungeon:

As seen in the images above this mod also introduces a few new logic blocks to the game, and unlike sculk sensors or any other redstone these new blocks can be set to detect the output of a specific block at any distance within loaded chunks!

To set which block the different blocks are looking for simply use a soul tunner item that contains either an awakened echo shard (to set the actual inputs) or awakened amethyst shard (to set the "logic mode" inputs) to set the frequency of the shard to that block, then for both logic and main inputs: [RightClick] to set the first input, and [Shift] + [RightClick] to set the 2nd input of a different block to the output of the first block you got the frequency of!

([RightClick] the block the shard is currently tuned to to un-tune it)

Note: keep in mind only the echo crystal possesses logic inputs as well as the only block with secondary inputs, IE: input1 and input2.

Soul Tuner, Awakened Echo Shards, And Awakened Amethyst Shards:

In addition, you can also equip the soul tuner with an infest iron or copper nugget to remove connected inputs of that block, iron for main inputs, and copper for logic inputs, and again for both logic and main inputs: [RightClick] to remove the first input, and [Shift] + [RightClick] to remove the 2nd input.

Where To Find These Items:

Infested iron/copper nuggets as well as awakened echo/amethyst shards can be obtained from the dungeons as reward items, while soul tuners can be crafted with an infested copper nugget, a stick, and an awakened echo fragment (another item that is obtained as a reward for completing dungeons).

In addition to the recipe for the soul tuner there are a few other recipes the mod adds for it's items:

(You can use any fuel for this, sticks was just what I had in my inventory at the time)

Lastly, there's the loot gem which is creative mode only! And can be renamed to set the loot table that a resonator block will dispense when it receives a soul-signal, as well as the percentage chance that an EXP orb will spawn instead of an item!

[RightClick] to set the loot table, and [Shift] + [RightClick] to set the EXP spawn chance.

However to mine any of the new blocks so you can use them in your own builds you'll first need to actually solve the puzzle, and keep in mind all the puzzles should be solvable so just be patient!

However there have been a few bugs during development where puzzles became broken during world-gen, so if you've spent hours on a puzzle and can't get it to work, please reach out to me and I'll do my best to fix it if it's actually broken.

Blocks:

Soul Block Detector:

The soul block detector does exactly what it sounds like, it detects whenever a soul block is next to it and outputs a soul-signal!

Building Blocks And General Block Info:

There are a few different generic building blocks that you will find in the dungeons themselves, they serve 2 main functions:

The first function they serve is of cours decorational/cosmetic to set the vibe of the dungeons.

Building Blocks Display:

Building blocks 1/3 - Infested earth.Building blocks 2/3 - Infested bone block.Building blocks 3/3 - Infested stone.

The 2nd function is to serve as a safeguard against cheating, as all of the building blocks (as well as the logic blocks) will remain unbreakable until the puzzle is solved, preventing or at the very least discouraging players from merely destroying parts of the puzzle to clear it and get the reward without putting in the effort to solve it!

Stopping Block Breaking:

Resonator stoping block breaking.

The player will also be incapable of placing blocks directly on these blocks until the puzzle is solved, again to discourage players from cheating.

Stopping Block Placing:

Resonator stoping block placing.

The only exception is the resonator block which serves as the dungeon's core, and can be broken before completing the puzzle, but this also means the player will not receive any rewards, even if the puzzle is solved correctly after breaking the resonator block.

Echo Crystal:

The echo crystal is the main logic block of the mod, and is therefore rather complicated... if you chose to read this part, buckle up and get comfy, cause this will be a lot to take in!

Echo Crystals In Their 4 Difrent Modes:

Echo crystals.

The echo crystal has 4 different modes it can be in (as shown above), all of which act as different logic gates (if you don't know what those are don't worry I practically explain what they are here anyways).

Note: the smaller crystals on the block model represent the logic inputs, where as the larger crystals on the block model represent the main inputs, the crystals on the model that only have one point represent the first main/logic inputs, while the crystals on the model that have two points represent the 2nd main/logic inputs.

Echo Crystal Inputs:

Echo crystal inputs.

Mode 1:

The first mode acts as an "or" gate which means it will output a soul-signal whenever any of the 2 main inputs are on, and will not output a soul-signal when none of the main inputs are on.

Echo Crystal "or" Mode Diagram:

The echo crystal is in this mode when both of the logic inputs are off.

Mode 2:

The 2nd mode acts as a "nor" gate, this means it will only output a soul-signal when none of the main inputs are on.

The echo crystal is in this mode when the first logic input is on, and the 2nd logic input is off.

Mode 3:

The 3rd mode acts as an "and" gate, which means it will only output a soul-signal when both of the main inputs are on.

Echo Crystal "and" Mode Diagram:

The echo crystal is in this mode when the 2nd logic input is on, and the first logic input is off.

Echo Crystal "and" Logic Inputs Diagram:

Mode 4:

The 4th and last mode of the echo crystal acts as an "xor" gate, this means it will only output a soul-signal when either of the main inputs are on, but not both!

Echo Crystal "xor" Mode Diagram:

Echo crystal "xor" mode diogram.

The echo crystal is in this mode when both of the logic inputs are on.

Echo Crystal "xor" Logic Inputs Diagram:

Logic-Inputs vs Main-Inputs:

Logic inputs as described above determine what "mode" the echo crystal is in, you can use the same exact types of soul-signal emitting blocks that you would use for main inputs to set the logic inputs.

Whereas the main inputs are the actual "values" that the echo crystal uses in different ways depending on the mode it's currently in.

In other words, you can think of setting the logic inputs the same way you would think about setting the "mode" of a comparator or daylight detector, the only difference being that (if you so desire) you can choose to change the mode it's in dynamically by using different combinations of soul-signals rather than the mode staying fixed to only one of it's modes while inside a contraption!
