Description

Physics ragdolls, real dismemberment and blood that stays where it lands.
Every kill in Minecraft becomes a body that falls, tumbles and can be taken apart.

WHAT'S IN THE NEW UPDATE

New Pixelated blood slider option: make blood/cuts/bruises more realistic or more Minecraft-ish
added bruises and cuts that bleed, and cracks to skeletons (toggleable and changes with the blood resolution slider) + compatibility with gun mods + general fixes

WHAT'S IN THE MOD?

Ragdolls for everything:

  • Mobs no longer tip over and puff away. They collapse as physics ragdolls that carry the force of the blow that killed them. A heavy hit sends a body flying; a mob shot off a ledge tumbles down it.
  • Zombies, skeletons, villagers, illagers, piglins and players fold at the knees and elbows.
  • Animals and other creatures (cows, wolves, spiders, horses, squid and the rest) go limp leg by leg, head and tail included.
  • Modded mobs work too. Mobs built from standard Minecraft models, including the Blockbench-style ones most mods use, and mobs from Citadel-based mods such as Alex's Mobs, get proper jointed ragdolls without any setup.
  • Sometimes a dying mob doesn't go quietly: it writhes and kicks on the ground for a few seconds first.
  • Arrows stay stuck in the mobs they hit and stay in their bodies after death. A killing arrow can pin a limb to the wall behind it.

Dismemberment:

  • Swords and axes cut limbs off zombies, skeletons, piglins, endermen and any modded humanoid. The mod detects them automatically, so no tags are needed.
  • A killing slash to the head can decapitate.
  • Living mobs adapt to what they've lost. An armless zombie can only bite; a legless one drags itself along the ground.
  • Animals lose a leg, tail or head to the killing blow, and any corpse can be hacked apart further afterwards.
  • Cut ends show raw flesh and bone, drawn at Minecraft's own pixel size.
  • Critical hits with blunt weapons cave in the part they hit.

Bodies that fall apart:

  • Two critical hits in a row burst a body into chunks of meat and bone.
  • So do big explosions and long falls.
  • Chunks are sized to what broke: a chicken leaves morsels, a ravager leaves slabs.

Blood that behaves like blood:

  • Each weapon sprays differently: slashes fan out sideways, blunt hits burst, arrows and tridents jet out of the far side.
  • Blood stains floors and walls, runs over the edges of blocks, drips down walls and streaks along them.
  • Overlapping stains merge into pools: a vivid rim and a deep, dark middle.
  • Soil, sand and wood soak blood up faster than stone. Stains darken as they dry.
  • Blood clouds slowly in water.
  • Different bodies, different blood: red for most mobs, green for slimes, purple for endermen, dark ichor for spiders and insects. Skeletons shed bone dust, and golems and spirits don't bleed at all. Modded mobs are guessed from their names.
  • Wet, crunchy sounds for cuts, smashes, bone snaps and splatters.

Customization:

Press K (or use the Mods menu) to open the in-game settings:

  • Bleeding: turn blood off entirely and keep only the ragdolls and dismemberment.
  • Pixelated Bleeding: a slider to make it look more realistic or more Minecraft-ish
  • Skeletons Bleed: give skeletons bone dust or none.
  • Black Blood: a less graphic look.
  • Amounts and limits: how much blood, how many stains and chunks, and how long they last.
  • Ragdoll physics: gravity and grip, and how long bodies stay.
  • Gameplay: how easily things are cut off, and whether players can lose limbs.
  • Blacklist: mobs that keep the vanilla death animation. This one is set in the config file, not on the K screen.
  • Bruises/Cuts: activate or deactivate them (they differ on resolution based on the pixelated bleeding slider value)

Details:

  • Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge.
  • Multiplayer: install on the server and on every client.
  • Performance: ragdolls, blood and stains run on each player's own game, with limits you control.
  • Compatibility: works with Embeddium and Oculus. GeckoLib-animated mobs fall back to a simpler stiff ragdoll. (will work on that)
