GoodMC: Legacy Combat Restoration

GoodMC is a lightweight combat mod which overhauls the combat system in Minecraft to what it was prior to the Combat Update (1.9). 😲
Comes with a built-in config. No need to mess with files outside the game.

Now compatible with multiplayer!

In addition, it brings back the old animations of blockhitting, swing, itemheld and more from Minecraft 1.7.10.

The mod is completely configurable in-game!

Core Features:

• Legacy attack speed: globally removes attack cooldown from the game
• Sweep attacks: disables sweep attacks unless the used tool has Sweeping Edge
• Classic Blockhitting: Re-enables the ability to block swords by right clicking with them. It looks and functions exactly as it did in Minecraft 1.7.10
• Damage of axes nerfed back to the way it was up until Minecraft 1.8, though they are still useful for disabling shields

Technical compatibility:

• Minecraft 1.12.2 (versions for this mod for the latest Minecraft versions coming soon)
• No dependencies required

Perfect mod for private servers and singleplayer survival worlds for players who want to play the latest versions with all the modern features and mods but without the combat from Minecraft 1.9

Server compatibility: Must be installed both on the client and the server

GoodMC modifies core combat mechanics (attack cooldown, blockhitting, etc.)
Using this mod on public servers may result in an automatic ban by anticheat systems. Use at your own risk on public networks

🔥 Features in detail:

• Globally removes attack cooldown from the game
• Restores sword blocking by right clicking with a sword to deflect 50% of incoming damage
• Restores the old damage values for axes (nerfing them back to what they were prior to 1.9) though they are still useful for disabling shields
  
  
• Rebuffs Sharpness and Strength
• Rebuffs the effects given by the Enchanted Golden Apple (used to give Regeneration V and Resistance II and was nerfed to Regeneration II and Resistance I)
• Allows removal of the Armor Toughness mechanic, rebuffing armor to be stronger, as it was prior to Minecraft 1.9
• Brings back the Enchanted Golden Apple recipe using an apple and 8 gold blocks
• Reverts the amount of knockback applied on hits to the amount it was in 1.7
• Removes the miss penalty introduced in 1.8. As soon as your crosshair is on target and you strike, the hit will register.
  
  
• Restores the visuals from 1.7: Blockhitting, Itemheld in first person & third person, old tooltips, old swing, eating animation and so on.
  
  
• Brings back the ability to break blocks while using an item (breaking blocks while blocking a sword, eating food, drawing a bow and so on)
• Restores the old fishing rod mechanics (fishing rods deal knockback again)
• Removes Enderpearl and Eye of Ender cooldown when throwing them
• Restores the classic 2D animations of dropped items and skulls from prior to Minecraft 1.8, and 2D beds from prior to Minecraft 1.12, all toggleable in-game and no restart needed
