Description

Build little golems, give each one a job, and let your crew run the base while you're busy or far away. They farm every plant, look after animals, guard your home, pick up items and chop trees, and they put everything in your chests.
New in 0.4.0: golems are real workers. They work all the time, wherever you are in the world, and on a server also while you're offline: their work areas stay loaded, so crops keep growing and the crew keeps working.
Start in 2 minutes
Craft a Golem Heart. It's in your recipe book from the start:
Redstone Copper Ingot Gold Ingot Copper Ingot Redstone Stack two blocks of one kind: hay bales, logs, stone or iron blocks (iron makes the strongest golem).
Use the heart on them. Your golem wakes up.
Right-click it and pick a job.
Put a chest or barrel nearby. The golem finds it by itself. It takes what it needs from the chest (seeds, animal food, shears, saplings) and puts what it gathers in.
That's it! Type /golemcrew help in the game any time to see these steps again. New players also get a short tip in chat when they join.

The jobs
| Job | What the golem does | What to put in a chest |
|---|---|---|
| Farmer | Harvests every ripe plant in its area, replants it, and plants new seeds | The seeds and plants you want grown |
| Animal Keeper | Feeds animals so they have babies (up to 8 of each kind), shears sheep, gathers wool and eggs | Wheat, carrots, seeds, and shears |
| Guard | Walks rounds through its area and fights every monster it sees (it leaves creepers alone, so nothing gets blown up) | Nothing |
| Collector | Picks up every item lying in its area | Nothing, it fills the chests |
| Lumberjack | Chops grown trees and plants a new sapling where each one stood (never your log cabins) | Saplings (it also picks up the ones that fall) |
| Follow Me | Walks with you as a bodyguard. Also the easy way to move a golem: let it follow you, then give it a job in the new place | Nothing |

What farmers grow
A farmer grows anything you put in a chest in its area:
| Plant | Where it grows |
|---|---|
| Wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, torchflowers, pitcher plants, sweet berries | Farmland (hoe the ground, with water nearby) |
| Melons and pumpkins | Farmland, with a free block next to each stem for the fruit |
| Nether wart | Soul sand |
| Sugar cane | Sand or dirt next to water |
| Cocoa beans | The side of a jungle log |
| Cactus | One sand block set into a floor of something else |
| Bamboo | One dirt or grass block set into a floor of something else (like stone or planks) |
| Mushrooms | One podzol or mycelium block set into a floor of something else |
| Chorus flowers | One end stone block set into a floor of something else |
| Glow berries | Under one moss block set into a ceiling |
| Kelp | A 1 × 1 water hole, 2 or 3 blocks deep |
Why single blocks? So a farmer never plants cactus over your whole desert or bamboo all over a forest. You decide where these plants go.

The golem menu
Right-click your golem to open its menu:
- Jobs: one click changes the job (each job has its own hat).
- Status: what it's doing right now, and red text when it needs something.
- Work area: 49 × 49 blocks to start, up to 97 × 97 (guards 97 × 97, up to 129 × 129). Show outlines the area with sparkles.
- Home: makes the spot where the golem stands the middle of its area.
- Find: looks for the nearest chest.
- Works all the time: golems keep working while you explore or are offline; their areas stay loaded. (If a server switches this off, the button becomes Work while away, which you turn on for each golem.)
- Retire: turns the golem back into its heart and two blocks (click twice).
- Pockets: 18 slots you can look into.

Golem materials

Heal a hurt golem by right-clicking it with wheat (hay), planks (wood), cobblestone (stone) or an iron ingot (iron).

Good to know
- Red text over a golem means it needs something: seeds, animal food, shears, saplings, a chest, or room in the chest.
- Golems use every chest and barrel in their work area. When one is full, they fill the next.
- Crew Clipboard (2 paper, planks and a copper ingot): right-click your golem, then right-click a chest to link it (storage from other mods works too), or two blocks to mark an exact work area. While you hold it, the area is outlined with sparkles.
- Eyes and hearts glow at night, so you can always find your crew.
- Lost a golem? /golemcrew list shows all your golems and where they are.
- Golems never attack players or pets, don't trample farmland, and only their owner can change them.
- In creative mode you can skip building: the spawn eggs are in the Spawn Eggs tab.

For servers
- Install Golem Crew and Fabric API on the server and on every player's game.
- Golems work all the time, also with nobody online: Golem Crew keeps their work areas loaded (at most 7 × 7 chunks per golem, 2,500 for the whole server), and an empty server doesn't pause while they work.
- Settings are in
config/golemcrew.json: golems per player (12), work area sizes, whether golems use every chest in their area, golems working all the time (golemsAlwaysWork, on) and the chunk limit (maxKeptChunks, 2500), or with it off the old "work while away" button (only while the owner is online, how many golems per player, how far), show golems that never stop at a full chest (showcaseOwners), whether guards attack creepers, the animal limit per kind (8), and how many joins show the welcome tip (3, or 0 for none). Settings from older versions are updated by themselves. - Commands: /golemcrew help (how to start), /golemcrew list (your golems), /golemcrew reload (operators: re-read the settings).
Requirements
Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer, and Fabric API.
