What's new

I haven't updated in 3 months... sorry everyone! But because it's been so long, there's a ton of new content. I've added a large number of spell focuses, made major innovations to focus usage, and added the Void Metal Armor you've all been asking for. I've also given the Void Metal Sword a brand-new tactical combat mechanic, added special focus support for some original Goety items, optimized the Past Book system, completely fixed the Void Core, and more — details below.

Note: This version does not yet include Black Book entries, configs for new content, or advancements. I'll release a follow-up version next Saturday to fill those in, along with some item detail polish.

Void Behemoth... you might be seeing it very soon :D

Major Bug Fixes

  • Void Core crash — Completely fixed.

  • Void Necromancer Servant feeding/leveling system — Now aligned with the base Goety system.

  • (It's been so long that I forgot a lot of them qwq)

Content Additions / Changes

  • Redrew almost all item textures.

  • New textures for some entities.

  • New model and textures for the Void Light set, plus I added a glow effect qwq

  • Nerfed the Void Necromancer's stats.

  • Nerfed Star Field Spell Focus and Void Slash Spell Focus.

  • Completely removed Void Zombie Spell Focus and Void Skeleton Spell Focus. Aside from the special focuses provided by the Void Necromancer Spell Focus, you won't see them anywhere anymore.

  • Optimized the Void Ritual's visual effects.

  • I forgot the rest.

Important Mechanics

Stacking Detonation

A mechanic for Void Metal weapons. Attacking a target applies marks to it. Different weapons may apply different mark types, and each weapon provides a corresponding detonation focus. When you aim at a marked target and use that focus, it detonates the marks. If you detonate them in a regular pattern, it triggers the weapon's advanced detonation, greatly increasing detonation damage — some also apply special effects. Advanced detonations differ between weapons.

Special Focuses

Allows weapons to provide special focuses that can be read by the spell ring. These cannot be obtained through any survival-mode method. Some special focuses can be crafted; others can only be provided by items. Armor-provided focuses are all full-set effects. Items that provide focuses can be enchanted with any enchantment that focus supports.

If you're curious about how this is implemented, check out the [Goety: Spell Source API] mod — it's an early/lightweight version of this system with quite a few bugs, but the core mechanic works fine. Future cross-mod integrations will likely use this format more often. Since this system could be useful for modpacks, I may add KubeJS support.

New Focus Forms

An innovation (roughly) on top of Goety's existing focus behavior:

  • Passive Focus: Up to 3 can be active at once. Icons and timers display on the soul bar. Right-click again to cancel, which puts it on cooldown.

  • Phased Focus: Right-click to enter casting mode. Usually has a fixed number of phases. Exits and goes on cooldown when the casting window ends or all phases are completed.

Structures

  • Added 7 structures with variants — some generate in the End, some in the Overworld.

Spell Focuses

  • There are way too many qwq — just check them out in-game qwq

Entities

  • Void Floating Soul

Weapons

  • Void Metal Scimitar

  • Void-Touching Blade

Armor

  • Void Metal Armor

Enchantments

  • Added 5 new enchantments that support the stacking mechanic.
