Description
THIS MOD IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED, AS ON MY PAGE, IT IS NOW REPLACED BY MIGL. THANK YOU
"The Wither now leaves behind more than destruction; it spreads rot." (And lore!)
Before reading: This mod builds on subtle details, so please read the full description to understand how everything connects.
Tip: Play this mod with JEI installed.
Whenever a mob in the Overworld dies from the Wither effect, its death spreads a creeping corruption across the land. This infection consumes soil, and plants, creating a decayed ecosystem known as the Rotment. (PLS READ)
- What does this biome introduce to the world?
Glad you asked! as I mentioned before, this biome introduces the Rotment corruption, whilst this corruption is far weaker then other mods, this is fine. My goal was to make it at least manageable. To obtain this corruption and its awards, you must fight the wither on the surface, and let it kill a couple things so the rot can start. This rot introduces new crops, however what you will likely see is the black pumpkins, both a food and restone material. It can give you the seeds to the rotweed, which can let you grow more then just pumpkins, I wouldnt suggest eating it when its just growing berries though, this will give you the "onset wither" effect which will give you wither 1-2 for 5-30 seconds when expired. However, all food is quite hearty. Here is a picture of all crops obtainable:
These crops range from most important to least, with the last one being decoration. Which is easily obtained by going into the Rotment Caves, which you can find near lush caves. The 2nd one being the "Peat Cane" which is used to farm "Urking biomass" and Cigars, which is one of two ways to obtain these items without spreading corruption. The 2nd way being to enter the Rotment Caves. Which I will discuss now. - What are the "Rotment Caves?"
Like I said before, the Rotmen Caves are a corrupted lush cave, and is the result of a wither fight from a player hundreds of years ago. All moss in this biome is dormant and will not spread. The biome however, is next to most lush caves with enough area. it will provide you all the crops you need to farm this corruption. if you use the Peat Cane, you can create the corruption yourself. However it is ill-advised without proper care.To give perspective, uncontrolled rot can consume about 25% of a small island in just 30 minutes.
- What do these black pumpkins do if they are so important?
These pumpkins can be used for both redstone and as a hearty food source. To use its redstone form, you must turn it into a "Jack Black", to do this you must shear its default form, break it, and put a redstone torch in it via crafting. In this form it can breed as well. To breed it, place 2 pumpkins next to it, and give it pumpkin seeds. However, in the redstone form, it can act as a redstone block that must be activated to turn on, it will be powered by its own redstone. these updates happen in 1 tick. This can be used for a pulse divider. - "Bro just list all the features I can't read"
Very well.
- A black pumpkin, which can be sheared for redstone usage (must put a redstone torch inside)
- Peat cane, which is used for cigars and urking biomass
- Urking biomass, which can be used to corrupt grass and moss and make black pumpkin pie
- A new biome, acting like a dead and corrupted lush cave, which you can get new crops from
- Anything that dies to the wither effect in the overworld will birth a very slow corruption - What does the name "Godless" mean?
I've noticed there isnt really a genre name or easy way to find minecraft mods that make the game harder. So ive created the name "Godless". its orgins only mean "There is no god to help you". Just meant to be metal. Anyone can use this name, you dont need to credit me; and I doubt I'm the first to use it. -
Do you have a discord server, where I can talk with you, ask away, and give suggestions?
I know you didn't ask that, but I do! here is the link:
