What's new

1.1.0.0 - Post-Launch Polishing

Changes

-Version number has gained an additional digit for monthly mod compat revisions

-Added Config Menu to directly tweak global modifers on lights or tweak visuals to fit your needs such as disabling blacklights

-Blacklights now utilize a new "blacklight" encoding instead of lights colored #000000 for detection

-The maximum amount of lights that can be loaded has been been doubled to 32,768

-the light cap on a section has increased from 128 to 254 without any noticable FPS drops; we get away with doing this by packing light information into a condenced array; we only do packing on sections which exceed 127 lights, and since the information uploaded is near identical in terms of size, we don't experience any noticable FPS drops on sectors with <127 lights

-Lights now only reload when the player moves 256 blocks as opposed to 16 blocks to reduce unnessary buffering and thus increasing performance; this value is configurable

-Added a luminence ceiling to prevent colored lights from blowing out lighter blocks and making it super bright

-Improved LOD dimming of lights, there is now a less obvious pop-in and have tiers of dimmness based on distance

-A new variable has been added to light provider properties called "occlude_to_blocklight", it is optional and set to 'true' by default

this allows colored lights to render regardless of the block's light emission itself, though do be warned, without occluding, it can bleed through objects if not used properly.

-Attempting to load Gleam on macOS will print an error, letting you know that the mod is not compatible on this operating system due to outdated OpenGL and lack of 4.3+ features.

Vanilla

-Nether Portal lights have been made less intense

-Sea Pickles now indevidual light providers for each stack as opposed to using the same one for all four

-Spawners now have occlusion turned off so their dim-maroon lights appear regardless of block light

-Brewing Stands have similarly also recieved a non-occlued faint orange glow
