All dinosaur models

The modification adds dinosaurs to minecraft. However, they are not bloodthirsty monsters or fossils that you need to revive. Predators attack their prey only when they are hungry, herbivores fight back, dinosaur nests and bones can be found all over the world. Each creature has unique custom model, texture and animations. Moreover, there is plenty of equipment, and some weapons have their custom models.

For now, the mod has no in-game documentation, so let me introduce some key features and mechanics. Also I recommend to install JEI, since there are lot of recipes, and some of them are not that obvious :)

Dinosaurs

You can meet them always everywhere. For now, there are 11 species (not all of them are dinosaurus, however). Some of them are herbivores, which means they won't attack anyone until someone attacks them. Others are carnivores. Each minute a carnivore creature becomes hungry and kills one prey. After that, the creature's hunger is satisfied for a minute, and it becomes neutral.

Moreover, most of the creatures has unique abilities to use when attacked. Each ability has a cooldown of 15 seconds. Finally, all the creatures are tameable and breedable. When bred, they lay eggs, except the aquatic ones. Now I'd like to present you these creatures in alphabetical order.

When riding a creature, you can use its ability (if it has one) by pressing R. You can also attack nearby enemies by pressing B.

Amargasaurus

A huge herbivorous sauropod with beautiful crests. Spawns in forests and meadows. Rideable.

Tame food: Herbivorous Treat

Ability: Stomp. Breaks nearest blocks and deals a lot of damage to nearby enemies

Drop: Amargasaurus Spike, Dinosaur Hide & Meat

Connected Weapon: Amargasaurus Trident (hits all enemies in 2x2 area)

Archelon

A giant carnivorous aquaitc turtle. Rideable.

Tame food: Tropical Fish

Ability: no ability

Drop: Archelon Shell, Giant Lungs (use underwater to replenish oxygen; it slowly repairs on air)

Connected Weapon:: no weapon

Deinocheirus

Though peaceful-looking, this giant theropod is predator. Spawns in forests and meadows. Rideable.

Tame food: Honey Block

Ability: Overpower. Deals 3 rapid attacks using its giant hands

Drop: Deinocheirus Hand, Dinosaur Fur & Meat

Connected Weapon: Deinocheirus Saw (can be used both for combat and cutting trees)

Mosasaurus

The ultimate oceanic predator which even archelons are afraid of. Rideable.

Tame food: Carnivorous Treat

Ability: no ability

Drop: Mosasaurus Fin, Giant Lungs

Nanuqsaurus

Carnivorous theropod which lives in cold snowy biomes. Its attacks applies Polar Touch effect which slows down entities attack speed and prohibits health regeneration. Rideable.

Tame food: Carnivorous Treat

Ability: passively applies Polar Touch when attacks

Drop: Nanuqsaurus Claw, Dinosaur Fur & Meat

Connected Weapon: Nanuqsaurus Blade (applies Polar Touch on hit)

Pachyrinosaurus

Herbivorous ceratopsian living in cold biomes. When defending, it knocks back the enemies. Rideable.

Tame food: Herbivorous Treat

Ability: passively knock backs the enemies

Drop: Pachyrinosaurus Wart, Horn & Collar, Dinosaur Hide & Meat

Connected Weapon: Pachyrinosaurus Shield (when blocking, applies Thyreophora Grace; deals damage to enemies who attack the owner), Pachyrinosaurus Maul (mines 3x3 and has extra knockback)

Protoceratops

Smalll herbivorous ceratopsian living in arid biomes.

Tame food: Herbivorous Treat

Ability: no ability

Drop: Protoceratops Collar, Dinosaur Hide & Meat

Connected Weapon: Protoceratops Shield (when blocking, applies Thyreophora Grace)

Quetzalcoatlus

Giant pterosaurus living in coastal areas. Carnivorous. Well, it flies, and you can take advantage of it. Rideable.

Tame food: Carnivorous Treat

Ability: Flight (hold SPACE to fly up)

Drop: Quetzalcoatlus Crest, Membrane & Finger

Connected Weapon: Quetzalcoatlus Halberd (use it to give temporary Slow Falling effect)

Saurolophus

Herbivorous dinosaurus. Spawns in plains and savannas. Rideable.

Tame food: Herbivorous Treat

Ability: Trumpet. Applies Stun to nearby enemies (this effects prohibits to move and attack)

Drop: Saurolophus Horn (right click to use Trumpet by yourself), Dinosaur Hide & Meat

Connected Weapon: no weapon

Tarbosaurus

That's why you are here, right? As cool as TRex, this carnivorous theropod lives in plains and savannas. Rideable.

Tame food: Carnivorous Treat

Ability: Roar. Applies Fear to nearby enemies (this effects prohibits to move and attack)

Drop: Tarbosaurus Tooth, Dinosaur Hide & Meat

Connected Weapon: Tarbosaurus Saber (restores you 1 HP when you attack)

Velociraptor

Little predator living in arid biomes. Thet attack only in groups. They will follow their owner if it has Pack Leader effect on him.

Tame food: Insect Abdomen (drops from Silverfish and Bee)

Ability: no ability

Drop: Feather, Velociraptor Claw

Connected Weapon: Velociraptor Dagger (both melee and range weapon)

All the dinosaur materials are mentioned above. However, let me also show the recipes of dinosaur treats which are used to tame most of them.

Basically, I have already mentioned all the combat stuff, so let me just provide all the recipes here. Tooltips and in-game documentation will be released in the nearest future!

Weapon Recipes

Armor

You can craft Feather Armor using feathers and then upgrade it to Fur Armor, or you can upgrade Leather Armor to Hide Armor and then to Shell Armor. Each armor has its unique buff which is activated when you press V. To purge the buff, press V again. Read more about buffs in the next section. Let me also show the recipes.)

Effects

As you might have guessed, there are some custom buffs and debuffs in the mod:

Pack Leader. Applied when you eat Insect Abdomen or use the ability of Feather Armor. Increases you movespeed & jump height and make all your tamed velociraptors follow and protect you.
Fear & Stun. Applied by Tarbosaurus, Saurolophus and by using Saurolophus Horn. They basically are the same and just have different icons. They prohibit you to move and attack.
Polar Touch. Applied by Nanuqsaurus and Nanuqsaurus Blade. Decreases target entity's attack speed and doesn't allow to regenerate health even if you hunger is full.
Thyreophora Grace. Applied when you block damage with Protoceratops or Pachyrinosaurus Shield. Gives you extra attack knockback.
Cretaceous Grace. Applied when you use the ability of Hide & Shell Armor. Increases your maximum health, armor and attack damage, but decreases your movement and attack speed.
Winter Grace. Applied when you use the ability of Fur Armor. Gives you extra movement & mining speed when you are in a cold biome.
Underwater Grace. Applied when you use the ability of Shell Armor. Increases your swimming speed and gives you infinite oxygen.

Vehicles

There are two vehicles in the mod:

Shell Submarine. Well, it swims fast and looks good.

Submarine

Quetzalcoatlus Airship. When you ride it, press SPACE to speed up and move towards your eyes direction.

I am planning both minor and major updates for the mod.

Minors:

in-game documentation;
different dinosaur textures.

Majors:

new dinosaur species;
new villager profession and related structure (a lab or something like that);
an option to make dinosaur hybrids (probably, hybrid dragons, but I can't tell exactly for now).
