v0.5.2 – Phase 3: Ghost Vision
The flagship feature of the Ghost Torch has finally arrived.
Ghost Vision lets you hold a Ghost Torch and sneak to display nearby light levels directly in the world.
This has been a major rewrite of the mod and lays the foundation for the rest of Professor's Toolkit.
Added
- Added Ghost Vision.
- Hold a Ghost Torch and sneak to display nearby light levels.
- Added an in-world light overlay rendered directly on the ground.
- Added color-coded light levels for quick readability.
Changed
- Ghost Vision now uses Minecraft's effective light level instead of only block light.
- Light values now correctly account for:
- Day and night
- Sky light
- Placed light sources
- Underground areas
- Reworked the rendering system for improved readability.
- Improved overall Ghost Vision performance and stability.
Fixed
- Fixed incorrect light values being displayed.
- Fixed multiple rendering issues.
- Fixed the curved "bowl" effect in the light overlay.
- Fixed several issues discovered during Phase 3 development.

The next update will focus on polishing Ghost Vision:
- Better wall-mounted Ghost Torch particles.
- Cardinal text rotation.
