Two slabs walk into a block. For once, both of them fit.
GB’s Slabs lets you mix different slab types in a single block space, and adds cubes: quarter-slab pieces that sit anywhere in a block so you can shape builds at a finer scale.
✦ Mixed slabs
Oak under stone, copper over wool, deepslate topped with cherry. Place any slab on the empty half of a different slab and they share the space. It works with every vanilla slab and with slabs from other mods.
✦ Cubes
Every vanilla slab has a matching cube, 101 in all. A block space holds eight cubes in a 2×2×2 grid, in any mix of materials. Use them to build:
- Corners, posts and pillars
- Vertical strips and thin walls
- Steps, ledges and half-slab trims
- Chequerboards, inlays and small details
Each cube shows exactly the part of the texture a full block would show in that spot, so cubes, slabs and full blocks of the same material line up seamlessly.
✦ Breaks the way you’d expect
Break the piece you’re looking at, not the whole block. Slab halves drop their slab, and cubes drop one at a time. Mining speed and the right tool come from the material you’re mining. Waterlogging, lighting, rain and face culling all follow vanilla slab rules.
✦ Crafting
- 1 slab → 4 cubes
- 4 cubes → 1 slab
- 1 wood, stone or polished blackstone cube → 1 button
Everything is in the GB Slabs creative tab.
