This fix was incorporated into recent versions of Forge (by this commit) so this mod isn't necessary for the current 1.12 forge versions.
Brycey92's compiled version of Fullscreen Windowed (Borderless) below is required to fix this bug if you are using that mod, as it changes how fullscreen works.

I've compiled a version of Fullscreen Windowed (Borderless) that fixes window resizing after exiting fullscreen, like this mod does! You can find a download and further explanation here.
Haccin does not appear to be updating Fullscreen Windows (Borderless) any time soon. Could you (or comp500) please start an unofficial curseforge project for the fixed version so that it can be integrated into curse modpacks without hassle? Either that or I can do the project and just pass credit to all parties involved?
The "fullscreen fix" that I actually need is the other one, to wit: When I alt-tab out of the game it becomes windowed and resizes to smaller and I have to press F11 to go back to fullscreen. What I would prefer when I alt-tab out is to have the icon in the system tray so when I alt-tab in, or click on the tray icon, it goes back to the game in fullscreen.
This looks nice though, and fixes another thing about the game that likely should have been fixed long ago if not for Mojang's indifference.

I can not get Minecraft to behave as you described.

This mod is incompatible with Fullscreen Windowed. When both mods are installed, this one does nothing.
Oh, what version is the one that supports 1.10.2? Would love to know
The next update should hopefully make this more version independent.
