Fry's Essentials is a lightweight tweaks and minor additions mod (for Forge), focused on finding uses for things that aren’t that useful in vanilla and adding small gameplay tweaks that I (and others) would like to see in the game. Feel free to suggest any!
So far it adds the following things (with MANY more to come):
New uses for vanilla items:
- Flinty gravel and flinty sand (A quick and aesthetically pleasing way to gather flint useful for early game arrows, flint and steel, and many other items for mods)
- Flint block (Wow a lot of flint stuff... a compacted version of flint, like other ore blocks. Can be crafted with 9 flint, and can be crafted into 9 flint as well)
- Flint toolset (A toolset that is sharper than stone [more damage and mines faster than stone], but is more primitive [lower durability, poor enchantability] to help utilize flint as an option for cheap tools)
- Flint bricks: flint brick walls, stairs, and slabs, with all appropriate recipes and stonecutter recipe\
- Cooked egg
- Egg salad sandwich (when a cooked egg and bread have a baby, you get a cheap and very saturating food)
Recipe additions:
- A recipe for a reduced number of arrows using wheat instead of feathers (For early game)
- Chainmail armor recipes (Use chains in a normal amor configuration)
- A recipe to craft cobwebs (5 string, can also craft cobwebs you find in chests into 1 string)
Added missing vanilla recipes (blasting and smelting):
- Added ability to blast and smelt raw ore blocks (slightly faster than smelting 9 raw ores individually, slighly less total xp)
- Added ability to blast clay balls and netherrack into their bricks
- Added missing blast furnace recipes (Cobble -> stone, stone -> smooth stone, cobbled deepslate -> deepslate)
