Forsaken Horror Director 1.2.0 RC1
The Warden — Completion & Hardening Update
This update builds on the 1.1.0 Warden system and focuses on making the Director's actions more meaningful, improving multiplayer reliability, strengthening server diagnostics, and polishing long-session behavior.
The core horror pacing system remains unchanged. FHD is still focused on one thing:
More tension. Less chaos. Better horror.
The Director
-
Improved the Director's role as The Warden, maintaining balance between horror encounters rather than simply appearing at random.
-
Director intervention feedback is now more closely tied to actual Director actions.
-
Real intervention cues remain connected to genuine suppressed or interrupted encounters.
-
Reworked ambiguous atmospheric dialogue so passive appearances do not falsely imply that the Director saved the player.
-
Replaced "You were spared." with the more appropriate "The threshold closes."
-
Preserved the Director's existing appearance and imposing 2.5× player scale.
Admin & Diagnostic Improvements
-
Added
/fhd director history [player] [count]. -
Director history now stores up to 20 recent actions per player for the current session.
-
Added encounter Group IDs to Director diagnostics, making it easier for server administrators to connect Director activity with pressure and encounter groups.
-
Improved
/fhd director lastinformation. -
/fhd director summonnow correctly records successful admin manifestations. -
Improved internal tracking of Director interventions, ambient appearances, and messages.
Multiplayer Improvements
-
Improved delayed Director intervention handling for multiplayer groups.
-
Players who change dimensions before an intervention completes will no longer receive delayed Director dialogue or cues in the wrong dimension.
-
Intervention presentation will no longer fire when all intended players have left the original dimension.
-
Improved cleanup when multiplayer encounter groups change.
-
Improved player disconnect cleanup for long-running servers.
Stability & Performance
-
Added additional long-session cleanup for Director state and diagnostics.
-
Prevented stale manifestation and dialogue cooldown information from accumulating as groups change.
-
Maintained bounded diagnostic history to avoid unnecessary memory growth.
-
Continued conservative server-authoritative behavior designed for large modpacks and dedicated servers.
Compatibility
This update intentionally preserves the proven FHD encounter architecture, including:
-
SAFE default operating mode
-
Existing pressure budgets and threat weights
-
Existing pacing timings
-
Existing multiplayer fatigue and fairness systems
-
Existing integration registry
