Description

Your diamond sword works fine.

That’s the problem. “Fine” is boring.

Forged Affixium adds 53 equipment affixes and seven rarities, giving your weapons, armor, and tools something besides a durability bar and an appointment with a lava pool.

Find upgraded equipment in loot, get lucky while crafting, or spend your valuables at the vanilla Smithing Table trying to turn an ordinary item into something worth keeping.

Everything stays rooted in Minecraft’s existing mechanics: damage, movement, mining, enchantments, durability, and other familiar stats.

Seven rarities

Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic → Transcendental

Higher rarities have stronger default stat ranges and room for more affixes, provided the equipment has enough compatible options.

Items come with colored names, individual affix symbols, exact values, and increasingly detailed tooltip borders. Transcendental gets animated rainbow text, because apparently excessive power needed a dress code.

Weapons

Swords, axes, and tridents can gain additional attack damage, attack reach, and knockback. Swords and axes can also gain attack speed and bonus damage against undead enemies or arthropods.

Swords have access to effective Looting and effective Sweeping Edge too. Useful when several zombies arrive together and you’d rather process them as a group.

For ranged equipment, bows and crossbows can draw or charge faster. Supported arrows and thrown tridents can gain projectile damage and projectile speed, while bows can gain projectile knockback and crossbows can gain effective Piercing.

Crossbow fireworks keep their normal damage and launch behavior. They’re already a workplace safety violation.

Tools

Pickaxes, shovels, axes, and hoes can receive mining speed, effective Fortune, and effective Efficiency. Shears can also benefit from mining speed and Efficiency when breaking appropriate blocks.

Block reach is available for pickaxes, shovels, shears, and brushes. Pickaxes can additionally roll harvest level, improving their ability to meet supported vanilla mining requirements.

The bonuses follow the tool’s purpose. A sword won’t receive crossbow charge speed. There’s enough useless equipment in your chests already.

Armor

Armor affixes depend on the slot:

  • All armor pieces: extra armor and armor toughness.

  • Helmets and chestplates: increased maximum health.

  • Chestplates and leggings: knockback resistance.

  • Leggings and boots: increased movement speed.

  • Helmets: effective Respiration and underwater mining speed.

  • Chestplates: reduced fire damage, reduced explosion damage, and increased body scale.

  • Leggings: effective Swift Sneak.

  • Boots: increased swimming speed, step height, and jump height, plus reduced fall damage.

Body scale changes your model, hitbox, and eye height. Growth waits if there isn’t enough space, so equipping a chestplate shouldn’t become an assisted burial.

Shields

Shields can receive knockback resistance while blocking, improved movement speed while blocking, temporary armor while blocking, and faster recovery after being disabled.

Something to help during those awkward moments when the thing keeping you alive suddenly goes on cooldown.

Fishing rods

Fishing rods can roll effective Luck of the Sea, effective Lure, a longer bite window, and greater pulling force against hooked entities.

Spend less time waiting, get more time to react, and pull hooked entities harder. The pulling bonus doesn’t multiply fishing loot; dragging something toward you aggressively is not a breeding mechanic.

Shears

Shears can gain increased entity interaction reach and additional wool per sheep, alongside their compatible mining and durability bonuses.

Extra wool keeps the sheep’s original color. The sheep survives the transaction, which makes this one of Minecraft’s more ethical supply chains.

Brushes

Brushes can gain brushing speed, additional underwater brushing speed, and longer brushing progress retention. They can also receive block reach.

You still uncover one discovery per suspicious block. It just takes less time to find out you’ve been carefully excavating another disappointment.

Elytra

Elytra can receive:

  • Aerodynamic efficiency: reduces horizontal drag.

  • Gliding lift: softens descent without creating upward flight by itself.

  • Gliding control: improves steering while preserving horizontal speed.

  • Firework boost duration: extends attached rocket lifetime.

  • Flight collision damage reduction: reduces damage from hitting walls.

They can also roll fall damage reduction.

These bonuses improve your chances. They do not make flying face-first into a cliff a sensible travel plan.

Durability

Compatible equipment can roll increased maximum durability.

Weapons, tools, shields, fishing rods, shears, elytra, and brushes can also receive durability preservation, giving them a chance to avoid durability loss. Armor does not receive preservation in the current catalog.

Your favorite item might finally survive long enough for you to lose it somewhere.

Enchantments still work

Affixes and enchantments are separate systems that can work together.

Fortune III + an affix granting five effective Fortune levels = effective Fortune VIII.

The original enchantment stays unchanged. Supported bonuses also interact with mechanics such as Efficiency, Respiration, Swift Sneak, Sweeping Edge, Piercing, and fishing enchantments.

Reforging

Use the vanilla Smithing Table, placing ingredients in template → equipment → material order:

Ingredients Result
Emerald + Equipment + Diamond 75% Epic / 25% Legendary
Emerald + Equipment + Netherite Ingot 75% Legendary / 25% Mythic
Dragon Egg + Equipment + Nether Star Guaranteed Transcendental

The result preview shows the probabilities. Taking the item confirms the operation and rolls its new rarity and affixes.

Custom names, enchantments, and compatible item data are preserved. Previous affixes are replaced. Vanilla netherite upgrades and armor trims remain available.

About that Dragon Egg…

Transcendental is the highest rarity, with exceptionally strong stat ranges and a 1% default chance within natural rarity rolls.

The Dragon Egg and Nether Star recipe guarantees it, but Transcendental equipment cannot be reforged again—including items generated naturally.

You can still use compatible repairs, enchanting, and vanilla upgrades. You cannot reroll the affixes because you changed your mind.

Read the preview before sacrificing the egg. The dragon is dead, and customer support went with it.

Compatibility and configuration

Includes English and Spanish translations, optional JEI reforging displays, and configurable rarity probabilities, generation chances, affix ranges, weights, restrictions, incompatibilities, and reforging materials.

Compatible modded equipment is detected through classes, Forge actions, attributes, tags, and configuration. Mods with their own equipment mechanics may require specific compatibility support.
