Forgebound Chests

Upgrade vanilla chests into Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite chests with huge storage, search, and sorting.
Forgebound Chests adds five upgradeable metal chests above the vanilla wooden chest. Start from a normal chest, then climb Copper → Iron → Gold → Diamond → Netherite. Each tier keeps your items, grows storage, and uses its own forged look.

Place two chests of the same tier side by side to make a double chest. The GUI shows up to 16 columns and 6 rows at a time, with a scrollbar for the rest.
Crafting
Copper through Diamond use the same glass-core pattern so they do not collide with vanilla “surround with 8 materials” recipes:

In-world Upgrade
You can also upgrade a placed chest without emptying it. Hold the next tier's material in your main hand and right-click the chest. Contents and custom names are kept. Double chests cost twice as much. You cannot skip tiers.
- Wooden chest, trapped chest, or vanilla copper chest → Copper: 8 copper ingots
- Copper → Iron: 8 iron ingots
- Iron → Gold: 8 gold ingots
- Gold → Diamond: 8 diamonds
- Diamond → Netherite: 1 netherite ingot
Chest GUI
- Search items by name
- A–Z / Z–A sort
- Tidy merges stacks and packs empty slots
Hoppers and comparators work. The Netherite Chest item is fire and lava resistant.
