🍗 Mokey Mod: Food Shuffle — The Mod That Turns Your Hunger Into Survival
Picture this: you're calmly exploring the world when suddenly a pink bar appears at the top of your screen — "Find or Craft: Pumpkin Pie"
And the worst part: it's shrinking. If you don't eat the right food before it hits zero... lightning strikes you down.
Food Shuffle is a mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that turns any multiplayer session into an individual race against time (and hunger). Every player is given, at the same time, a different random food item to find or craft — and only those who manage to eat the correct item before their bar runs out will survive.
⚙️ How It Works
When a match starts, the mod individually randomizes a food item for every online player (drawn from all the food items in the game) and shows a pink, notched boss bar above each player's screen, displaying the name of the food they need to consume. Targets are re-rolled every round, so no one knows what they'll get next.
If a player eats the correct food in time, they're marked as "saved" and move on in the match. If their bar hits zero before that, they're eliminated — struck down by a lightning bolt from FoodShuffle itself. The last player standing is declared the grand champion of the match.
🛠️ Commands
The base command is /foodshuffle, with two subcommands:
/foodshuffle start
- Starts a new competitive match.
- Randomizes an individual food target for each online player and activates each one's boss bar.
- Requires at least 2 players online to begin (returns an error message otherwise).
- Blocks starting a new round if a match is already in progress (you must run
/foodshuffle stopfirst). - Requires operator (admin) permission to run.
/foodshuffle stop
- Stops the current match at any time.
- Clears boss bars, rolled targets, and resets the game state.
- Displays a message that the match was stopped by an administrator.
- Also requires operator permission.
All of the mod's messages are shown in chat with the [FoodShuffle] prefix, including round-start warnings, eliminations, and victory announcements.
🎯 Mechanics and Features
- 🍽️ Individual randomization: unlike mods with a single global target item, here every player gets their own target — nobody is competing for the same item.
- ⏱️ Timed boss bar: a visual bar (pink, notched style) that acts as each player's personal countdown timer.
- ⚡ Lightning elimination: anyone who fails to eat the correct food in time is eliminated with a lightning strike visual/sound effect.
- 🏆 "Last one standing" mode: the match ends automatically once only one player remains, who is declared the winner.
- 🔊 Sound and visual effects: round-start and elimination sounds to reinforce the tension.
- 🔒 Admin-restricted commands: only operators can start or stop matches, preventing griefing.
