This mod introduces a compelling new mechanic to your gameplay by adding expiration dates to all food items, blocks, and crops. It also features innovative methods for preserving your food, ensuring it lasts longer, including:

- **Drying Rack**: A convenient tool for dehydrating fruits, vegetables, and meats, allowing you to create dried food items that maintain flavor and nutritional value.

- **Freezer**: A vital appliance for chilling food items, significantly slowing down spoilage and keeping perishables fresh for extended periods.

When food reaches its expiration date, consuming it will lead to illness, adding a layer of challenge to your foraging and cooking adventures.

Food items can exist in three distinct states:

- **Fresh**: Newly harvested or crafted.

- **Dried**: Preserved through drying, these items maintain their nutrients and never spoil.

- **Moldy**: This state indicates spoilage and includes various subcategories:

- **Moldy Block**: Blocks that have deteriorated.

- **Moldy Milk**: Dairy products that have gone bad.

- **Bottle of Mold**: Mostly for mods with food and a block that has a glass container to avoid losing the glass container when it gets spoiled.

- **Moldy Food**: Other perishable items that have spoiled.

- **Dead Crops**: Crops that are no longer viable for consumption.

**Important Note**: Due to the mechanics of this mod, players need to convert carrots and potatoes into seeds before planting them in Framland. Fortunately, this process is straightforward:

- **Carrot Seeds**: Craft one carrot to produce a set of seeds.

- **Potato Seeds**: Craft one potato to create a set of seeds.

The mod includes a configuration file that allows you to adjust various settings if desired, including a way to add new food blocks and items from other mods, and what they return when they spoil.

The config file can be found under "YourModpack\config\food_expiry_date-common.toml" after the first time launching the game with the mod installed.
