What's new
Flux Foundry 0.8.0-beta.1 — Factory Infrastructure
Build cleaner factories with configurable machine sides, bundled conduits, and color-separated networks.
Added
-
Configurable Machine I/O
- Configure the six faces of supported Flux Foundry machines.
- Choose which faces accept or output Items, Fluids, Steam, Exhaust Steam, and FE as appropriate for each machine.
- Multiple supported functions can share the same machine face.
- Includes clear Side Configuration screens.
- Reset to Default restores the machine's standard configuration.
- Machine-side settings persist through saves, restarts, and chunk unloads.
- Existing worlds automatically receive defaults matching their previous automation behavior.
-
Bundled Conduits
- Energy Cables, Item Pipes, Fluid Pipes, and Steam Pipes can now share the same block space.
- Up to one layer of each transport type can occupy a single conduit position.
- Each layer keeps its own network behavior.
- Each layer has independent connection settings.
- Individual layers can be added or removed without destroying the others.
- Breaking the entire bundle returns the installed transport layers normally.
- Bundles contain no hidden Item, Fluid, Steam, or FE storage.
-
Colored Network Channels
- Every conduit layer can use Default + 16 Minecraft dye colors.
- Matching colors connect.
- Different colors remain separate even when the conduits are directly adjacent.
- Default is its own channel rather than a wildcard.
- Every layer inside a bundle can have a different channel.
- Channels work independently for:
- Energy
- Items
- Fluids
- Steam
Improved Logistics Networks
Colored Item channels now apply to the entire Logistics Network.
A Controller on a Blue Item network cannot see or request resources from a Red Provider network.
Changing channels dynamically updates Controller/Provider membership, and joining two Controller networks correctly triggers Controller Conflict protection.
This makes it possible to run multiple independent Item networks directly beside one another without unwanted connections.
Improved Machine Automation
Machine side configuration now controls the actual capabilities exposed on each face—not just the appearance of the machine.
For example, a processor can accept both:
Item Input + Energy Input
through the same physical face and bundled conduit.
The Steam Turbine can independently expose:
Steam Input + Exhaust Output + Energy Output
according to the player's configuration.
Extractors remain useful and continue providing active Item/Fluid extraction.
Changed
- Updated Flux Foundry from NeoForge 26.3.0.33-beta to NeoForge 26.3.0.37-beta.
- Existing Energy Cables, Item Pipes, Fluid Pipes, and Steam Pipes migrate to the Default channel.
- Existing machines receive configurable-side defaults matching their previous 0.7 automation behavior.
- Existing registry IDs and worlds remain supported.
- Conduit rendering now provides visual channel identification while preserving transport-type identity.
- Factory layouts can now carry multiple transport systems through substantially less physical space.
Fixed
- Fixed the NeoForge
.37-betastartup crash caused by the removal ofModConfig.Type.SERVER. - Fixed Energy and Steam transfers potentially completing after machine-side permissions changed during the transaction.
- Fixed conduit configuration so authoritative changes remain server-side.
- Fixed conduit dirty-save behavior around unloaded neighboring chunks.
- Fixed missing player-facing names for:
- Energy Cable
- Item Pipe
- Fluid Pipe
- Steam Pipe
- Fixed Side Config buttons overlapping machine information and upgrade text.
- Improved machine and Steam GUI spacing.
- Fixed Logistics Network panels clipping at larger GUI scales.
- Improved Smart Logistics control spacing.
- Improved visibility of inventory and delivery slots.
Performance & Safety
- Tested 100 four-layer conduit bundles, representing 400 active transport layers, with zero stable topology rebuilds.
- Stress-tested 1,536 Bundles / 6,144 logical transport layers while retaining the established 4,096 discovery-work-per-tick ceiling.
- Tested 16 adjacent channel-separated networks with zero cross-channel transfers.
- No intentional chunk loading or chunk tickets were introduced.
Steam Compatibility
Legacy pipes, Default-channel bundles, and colored bundled infrastructure all retain the canonical Steam cycle:
1,000 mB Water → 1,000 mB Steam → 4,000 FE gross → 950 mB recovered Water + 50 mB makeup → 25 FE Pump cost → 3,975 FE net
before Boiler fuel economics. Pasted text
Validation
The repaired release candidate has now passed:
- 235/235 automated tests
- All 230 previous FF-008 tests retained
- 5 additional localization/UI regression tests
- 0 failed
- 0 skipped
- Packaged graphical client
- Dedicated client/server
- Production-only dedicated server
- Standard capability interoperability
- Energized Power FE interoperability
- 0 unresolved S1 defects
- 0 unresolved S2 defects Pasted text
Known Beta Limitations
- One layer of each transport type per bundled block.
- Two differently colored Item layers cannot occupy the same bundle simultaneously.
- The same limitation applies to Fluid, Energy, and Steam layers.
- Extractors remain separate directional blocks.
- No conduit facades/covers yet.
- No autocrafting yet.
- No digital storage yet.
- No Fluid requests.
- No wireless or cross-dimensional logistics.
- No chunk loading.
