Description
# Flightclad
Flightclad is a lightweight Vanilla+ survival flight upgrade for Minecraft.
## Overview
Upgrade the chestplate you already use and take flight.
Flightclad adds a simple path to Creative-style survival flight without requiring an Elytra, accessory slot, fuel, energy, XP, food, or custom flight physics.
## How it works
Craft a **Flight Core** and craft or discover a **Flight Upgrade Smithing Template**.
Combine the template, a compatible chestplate, and the Flight Core at a smithing table. The result remains the same chestplate—with its durability, enchantments, custom name, trim, and other data preserved—but gains a **Flight Module**.
Wear the upgraded chestplate in Survival and double-tap jump to fly using familiar vanilla flight controls.
## Features
- Creative-style flight using vanilla controls and speed
- Early-game crafting and smithing progression
- Preserves existing chestplate data
- Template crafting, duplication, structure loot, and Recipe Book unlocks
- No fuel, energy, XP, food, or extra equipment slot
- No custom flight physics or speed system
## Supported releases
- **Minecraft 1.21.1 — Fabric** *(Fabric API required)*
- **Minecraft 1.20.1 — Forge**
For multiplayer, Flightclad must be installed on both the client and server.
## Compatibility
Flightclad supports standard chestplates and compatible modded chestplates that follow normal armor/chest-slot conventions.
Some mods with unusual custom equipment systems may require separate compatibility support.
