# 🍖 First Bite

**Eating in Minecraft finally looks like eating.**

First Bite replaces the vanilla food bob with real first-person animations for every food and drink in the game, including food from other mods. Food is drawn as rounded 3D shapes and eaten bite by bite.

## 🍽️ How things get eaten
- 🍗 **Meat** is gnawed off the bone
- 🍔 **Sandwiches and burgers** are held in both hands
- 🫐 **Berries and nuts** are popped in one at a time
- 🍦 **Ice cream** is licked
- 🌽 **Corn** is eaten like a typewriter
- 🍌 **Bananas and oranges** are peeled first
- 🍞 **Bread** is torn
- 🍰 **Cake and pasta** are eaten off a plate with a fork
- 🍜 **Noodles** are slurped off chopsticks
- 🥣 **Soups and stews** are spooned from a bowl
- 🪣 **Buckets** are chugged

- 🔥 Hot food gets blown on before the first bite
- 💦 Juicy fruit splashes, crunchy food crunches
- 🤢 Rotten food makes you shudder
- 🍾 Bottles get their cork pulled (or their cap twisted off) before you drink
- 🔊 Custom sounds for biting, crunching, slurping, peeling and more
- ⏳ Eating takes a little longer so you can actually see it (configurable)

## ✅ Works with everything
First Bite works **on its own with vanilla food**. Food and drinks from **any** mod are picked up and animated automatically, with no setup.

## ❓ FAQ

**Do I need any other mods?**
No. On Forge it needs nothing else. On Fabric it only needs Fabric API.

**My food mod isn't listed. Will it work?**
Yes! Any food or drink from any mod gets animated. The list above is just the mods with extra support.

**Can I make eating normal speed again?**
Yes. Change the speed in `firstbite-eating.toml`.

**Can I use it in my modpack?**
Yes!
