
Basic example of how fire spreading works.

The fire is finished. This is roughly the average fire spread distance with the gamerule set to 64; it defaults to 50, but can be set much higher if you aren't too worried about mass destruction.

Another inner chamber. The floor is liable to collapse.

Sunset on the first day. Most of the interior first floor is on fire.

One of the inner hallways. Not looking so great.

Several days later. Plants begin to grow back.

Dawn of the third day. The forest fire has more-or-less finished.

This is why this mod exists.

Dawn of the second day. Fire is almost finished.

Several more days later. The forest has more-or-less finished growing back.

Some time later. It begins to rain.

Noon of the second day. Oh dear.

Noon of the second day. The fire beginning to wind down.

Shortly after dawn, the first day.

Midnight on the third day.

Noon of the first day.

Sunset on the first day.

Fire finished. Because it spread downwards, the interior is relatively unharmed. If the fire came from below, it would be substantially more destructive.

Dawn of the second day.

Charred wood blocks, and the notorious Griefer. Charred wood can only be produced by fire, not crafted.
