This license covers the Field Emitters source code, compiled mod, project-created assets and documentation supplied with this license (the "Project"). Materials identified as third-party work remain under their own licenses. In particular, the NeoForged MDK notice in TEMPLATE_LICENSE.txt is unchanged.

2. Playing, research and private changes

You may download, install, run and make necessary local or backup copies of the Project. You may run the official mod on a Minecraft client or server. You may inspect source code you lawfully obtain and make private changes for learning, research, testing and preparing contributions to the official project.

These permissions do not authorize distributing a modified build, operating a modified version as a separate public mod project, or incorporating Project code or assets into another distributed product.

3. Contributions

You may submit patches, improvements and other contributions to the official Field Emitters project. You may maintain a source-only fork for preparing and reviewing such contributions, clearly identified as a contribution fork. This exception does not authorize publishing fork binaries or maintaining a separate release, port, successor or feature variant.

You retain ownership of your original contributions. By intentionally submitting a contribution for inclusion, you grant the maintainers permission to use, modify and distribute it as part of the official Project under this license. You must have the authority to grant those permissions.

4. Redistribution and modpacks

You may redistribute unmodified official releases of the compiled mod, including through third-party launchers, download mirrors, modpacks and server packs, without asking for permission. Keep the mod JAR unchanged, retain its copyright and license notices, credit Field Emitters and ZeroTheAbsolute, and link to an official project page. Include this license with the download or pack when it is not already included in the JAR. Ordinary modpack configuration, scripts and resource-pack overrides do not modify the JAR and are permitted; this does not permit copying Project code or assets into those overrides.

Except for the permissions in this license or separate written permission from ZeroTheAbsolute, you may not distribute modified builds, renamed copies, ports, forks as separate mods, versions with added features, or Project source code or assets for reuse in another distributed mod or product. Modpack inclusion does not grant permission to distribute a derivative version of Field Emitters.

5. Screenshots, videos and research reports

You may publish gameplay screenshots, videos, reviews and research findings, including monetized videos, with reasonable attribution. This permission does not authorize distributing Project source, assets or binaries beyond the other permissions in this license. Rights you independently have under applicable law, including fair use and other copyright exceptions, are unaffected.

6. Names and notices

Keep applicable copyright and license notices with every permitted copy. Do not present your work as an official Field Emitters release or imply endorsement by ZeroTheAbsolute. Descriptive references and attribution are permitted; no general trademark license is granted.

7. Earlier licenses

This license does not revoke rights already granted for copies previously received under another license. It does not override third-party rights or permissions that a contributor grants separately for their own work.

8. Warranty and liability

The Project is provided as is, without warranties, to the extent permitted by law. The copyright holders and contributors are not liable for claims, damages or other liability arising from the Project or its use, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
