Fervente's Butcher Knife adds a unique utility weapon designed for efficient meat harvesting. Right-click passive animals with the Butcher Knife to instantly harvest meat without the hassle of traditional combat. Perfect for farms, survival gameplay and Modpack implementation!

🔪 The Butcher Knife

A specialized tool that combines combat and utility:

Attack Damage: 6.0 (3 hearts)
Attack Speed: 1.0 attacks/second (axe speed)
Durability: 250 uses
Special Ability: Right-click to harvest animals

🐄 Harvest Mechanic

Right-click any compatible animal to perform a harvest:

Harvest Damage: 10.0 (5 hearts) - configurable
Durability Cost: 20 per harvest (12 total harvests)
Cooldown: 3 seconds between harvests
Loot Compatibility: Works with Looting enchantment for extra drops
Fire Aspect Compatibility: Automatically cooks meat when harvesting

✨ Enchantment Support

The Butcher Knife has restricted enchantments for balance:

Allowed Enchantments:

⚔️ Sharpness - Increases both combat and harvest damage
🔥 Fire Aspect - Sets animals on fire, producing cooked meat
💎 Looting - Increases meat drops from harvests
🛡️ Unbreaking - Extends tool durability

Blocked Enchantments:

❌ Any other sword enchantments

🎮 Gameplay Tips

🌾 Farming Strategy

Build an animal pen with 12+ animals (one full knife worth)
Use Fire Aspect to get cooked meat directly
Apply Looting III for maximum meat yields
Keep a backup knife in your inventory

⚔️ Combat vs Harvest

Combat: Lower damage (6.0) but no durability penalty per hit
Harvest: High damage (10.0) but costs 20 durability per use
Strategy: Use combat for cleanup, harvest for efficient farming

💎 Looting Optimization

Looting III can drop up to 5-7 meat per harvest from cows/pigs!

Standard drop: 1-3 meat
Looting I: 2-4 meat
Looting II: 3-5 meat
Looting III: 4-7 meat

Position Caching: Entity position cached before damage to ensure accurate particle spawning
Enchantment Calculation: Sharpness adds 1.25 damage per level to harvest
Cooldown Display: Visual cooldown bar appears in hotbar

Dead entity check prevents harvesting corpses
Durability threshold check prevents over-use
Cooldown prevents spam harvesting

Cannot be repaired (by design - consumable tool)
