Farground 1.9.0 (26.3, NeoForge)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Farground is out of beta. 1.9.0 is the first full release: same features, made sturdier, and tested hard before leaving beta.

- Fabric: needs Fabric API and one LOD mod, Voxy or Distant Horizons.
- NeoForge: needs Distant Horizons 3.3.3+. The settings screen needs Cloth Config.
Fixed
- Settings can't be lost in a crash: a crash or power cut while saving could leave the settings file empty, and Farground would quietly go back to its defaults. Saving is now crash-safe.
- Progress saves on every drive: on some network shares and synced folders the progress file could fail to save. It now always saves.
- Linux desktops never pause "on battery": a wireless mouse, keyboard or controller could make a Linux desktop look like a laptop on battery.
- Long-running servers: data for players who left is now cleared, so servers with many visitors don't slowly grow.
- More robust with other world-generation mods: a chunk request that another mod rejects right away no longer slows generation down over time.
Tested before release
- The game force-killed in the middle of generating, three times: every one of 205,000 chunks still readable, progress kept, no gaps in the distant terrain.
- 3 GB of memory: 146,000 chunks without problems.
- 47 minutes non-stop: 694,000 chunks, memory steady.
- Amplified, Superflat, single-biome and large-biome worlds; the Overworld, Nether and End; a small world border; reopening worlds; settings files from older versions.
