Fancy Glint

Mojang, why'd you have to ruin that pack...?

This mod is HEAVILY inspired by the work of archon_andromeda and his resource pack named Fancy Glint.

Why does this mod exist?

Unfortunately, due to the way Mojang has made shader resource packs work in latest versions, the original pack no longer works as intended. As the cherry on top, attempting to update the core shader to newer versions results in item glint changing as well as the armor glint. This is an unintended, and frankly ugly side-effect.

How does this mod work?

In modern versions of minecraft, there are four glint types. These are ARMOR, ITEM, TRANSLUCENT-ITEM and ENTITY. However, all four of them share the same GLINT shader pipeline. This is precisely the problem we're trying to avoid. This mod recreates the ARMOR glint type and forces it to use a custom shader defined in two separate shader files. These are essentially what archon_andromeda used in his original resource pack, just ported so modern Minecraft understands them.

That's really all there is to it! Quite a simple fix, and one that I am sure some will appreciate.

Port to version XYZ?

Nah, I don't really feel like it. But the mod isn't obfuscated, you can decompile it and port it to whatever version you may want.
